Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior compliance professional to lead the EMEA Compliance Treasury Services (“TS”) and Global Trade & Loan Products (“GTLP”) business, which forms part of J.P. Morgan's Corporate & Investment Bank. The TS Compliance team is responsible for providing compliance support and advice to Liquidity Solutions, Core Cash Management, Escrow, Trade, Export and Supply Chain Finance, and other types of Loan Products and Pre-paid Card products. The work is varied and often time critical, requiring a good understanding of TS products and services, regulatory regimes and the systems and operational processes that support the delivery of the products and services.  The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with the TS and GTLP businesses to build and maintain control mechanisms to remain in compliance with laws and regulations, and to protect the reputation and franchise of the TS & GTLP businesses and the firm. The role will have line management responsibility for a team of six and work closely with compliance officers across the EMEA footprint.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Representing Compliance at the relevant Compliance and business governance forums e.g. business management meetings, Business Risk and Control Forums, Client Decision Making Committee (CDMC), New Business Initiative Approval Committees etc.
  • Accountable for the consistent execution of the TS & GTLP Compliance programme as part of broader CIB Compliance.
  • Providing advice and interpretation on a wide range of regulatory and firm policy issues.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory and legislative changes and providing advice to enable the business to operate in a compliant and controlled manner
  • Key contact for regulatory exam management and visits
  • Developing and implementing Compliance policies and procedures
  • Conducting ongoing Compliance risk assessments
  • Reviewing new business initiatives and assessing their regulatory implications
  • Developing and executing Compliance education training
  • Partnering with the regional heads of TS / GTLP Compliance in North America, Asiapac and LATAM
  • Partnering with other control functions e.g. Legal, Risk, Audit, Finance and Oversight & Control to ensure a robust control environment
  • Responsible for the performance management and professional development of the TS compliance team
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive Compliance experience or relevant regulatory, audit or risk background
  • Preferred experience in transaction banking - cash management and/or payment services
  • Good working knowledge of UK and EU regulations applicable to payment services (cash management and liquidity) and lending Products e.g. FCA Handbook/SYSC/COBS
  • Ability to interpret and map complex regulations against business processes in order to document compliance requirements with those regulations
  • The proven ability to manage a team and execute a compliance programme
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills; solution driven; confident; highly motivated and proactive 
  • Ability to deliver high quality results as part of a regional and global compliance function
