The Role
The role is within the Wealth Management EMEA Compliance team and provides an excellent opportunity to join this important & growing team. The position is based in London and will report to the ED Head of Regulatory Change & Governance Reporting.
As the lead for internal governance reporting & metrics, you will own and develop the combination of governance reporting presentations & risk-based metrics used by the Head of WM EMEA Compliance and other senior members of the team for looking at both the health of the Compliance function and the underlying business. The main focus of the role is the production of internal governance presentations relating to the Compliance Plan which the Head of Compliance will then use to update senior internal governance committees.
The role will require a close working relationship with the WM, EMEA and global teams in coordinating and implementing the Compliance agenda under tight timeframes that govern the governance reporting deliverables. The role presents an excellent opportunity to interact with senior stakeholders and gain a detailed insight into the management of a regional Compliance function for a global wealth management business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Governance Committee Presentations - Compilation, production and document management of required reporting & metrics for multiple governance committees and forums
  • Business Management - Provide close support to the Head of WM EMEA Compliance and the Head of Regulatory Change & Governance Reporting in the business management of the Compliance function and in implementing functional and business strategy and priorities
  • Project Support - Support delivery of initiatives and projects including taking ownership for specific workstreams of projects that impact the department and be responsible for driving initiatives to successful completion with the support of the Head of Compliance and other team members
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of strong governance for executing the functional agenda including, amongst other requirements, the tracking of Compliance owned actions arising from internal and external reviews and the annual Compliance Plan
  • Collaborate with other control functions and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Support resiliency, contingency and crisis management coordination
  • Undertake analysis and MIS reporting and prepare reports for the Head of Compliance including periodic reporting / issue escalation to committees, boards and the function
  • Assist in the development, rollout and maintenance of meaningful metrics on Compliance performance
  • Continuous development & improvement of the approach to governance reporting & business management
  • Cover for other professionals within the team will be required
  • Some financial services work experience (preferred)
  • Strong PC skills, especially PowerPoint (proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Outlook)
  • Effective interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be a self starter with the ability to organize and manage work and time independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy and demanding role to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise efforts and tasks, diagnose problems and take ownership to ensure prompt delivery
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an ability to engage different stakeholders and audiences
  • Tact and good judgement and the ability to interact with senior management
  • Demonstrated collaborative style and ability to partner with people across a diverse and global organization
  • Previous project / work stream experience welcome
  • Flexibility around working outside contracted hours when required
