The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Technology division provides best-in-class software development services to deliver, maintain and support strategic and secure technology platforms and solutions for CIB’s shared services and global businesses, encompassing Equities, Fixed Income, Investor Services, Banking, Treasury Services.  The Macro Technology team within CIB Markets comprises Currencies and Emerging Markets (CEM), Commodities, Architecture and Data, CIB Strategies, Market Data Services, Reporting and Regulatory, Client Research Technology, Management, Athena Business Services, and Macro E-Trading. 


Position Summary

Reporting to the Global Business Manager, CIB Technology F&BM supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Macro Technology, the primary function of the role is to provide comprehensive financial management, business management, and strategic support to the CTO and an organisation of 1600+ headcount organization accounting for close to $500mn of expenses. The role will involve regular interaction with senior management across Technology, Finance and Business Management, Operations, as well as the front office stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • CTO Enablement including regular running of Management meetings, coordination of the people agenda and a divisional communications strategy, and training and support
  • Full financial management of the Macro Technology budget and spend, including month end financial activities and annual planning
  • Creation and execution of an organisational strategy in line with CIB Technology and the Macro business partners
  • Management of workforce strategy, governance and reporting as well as Vendor Management
  • CTO and CBT level program management (PMO) governance and reporting
  • Execution of CTO specific projects and analysis
  • Preparation of executive presentations for senior internal and external audiences, including Regulators
  • Oversight of Business Continuity Planning and Compliance activities
  • Alignment of the business strategy into a coherent front to back technology 3 year plan across Marco and ensure there is clear accountability for execution
  • Create common set of goals, metrics and key success measures for the group
  • Deliver executive-level monthly business reviews to all stakeholders
  • Optimize Run The Bank and Infrastructure spend through management of productivity workstreams
  • Ensure Change the Bank spend is appropriately prioritized with supporting business case
  • Act as the deputy to the CTO, and a senior front office face off
  • Directly manage a team of 15 staff across the globe
  • Significant prior relevant industry experience, ideally coupled with strategic, business management and financial experience in financial services
  • Ideal experience/background in technology, finance and operations
  • An understanding of the Fixed Income business and its technology enabled future
  • Must be a confident leader -- possessing a strength of personality and intellect to gain the respect of demanding business heads and senior managers
  • Must have a collaborative and participative management style. Professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound decision-making skills allied with the ability to interact at senior executive level are essential
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task and drive the agenda under pressure
  • Strong managerial experience with the ability to work in a matrix organization
