Primary Function

The position is Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager, based in New York.  The Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager will be a member of the Multi-Asset PM Group within Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Officer Team, reporting to the Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Management for the Americas. The group is responsible for developing and implementing cross asset class views in discretionary portfolios.  This includes strategic, tactical, and vehicle-level decisions across traditional and alternative asset classes.  The group comprises individuals in New York, London, Geneva, and Singapore and is highly collaborative across teams and regions.
Key work will include
  • Build and manage risk-efficient multi-asset portfolios
  • Drive research of new investment themes and tactical trade ideas
  • Advance the development of new global multi-asset portfolio construction frameworks and techniques
  • Drive implementation decisions of our asset allocation views at the portfolio level
  • Monitor performance of and risk-manage portfolios on a day-to-day basis
  • Present to clients, both internal and external, the PB CIO portfolio management framework and its application to particular asset classes, market environments, and/or client situations
  • Collaborate with regional businesses on strategic initiatives for enhancing our competitive position in their markets
  • Parse complex tasks and juggle priorities in a highly dynamic professional environment
  • Deliver complex, bespoke client analyses while seeking to maximize intellectual leverage and reuse
  • Direct experience in portfolio  management, preferably within a multi-asset framework
  • Deep knowledge of global financial markets, investments, and portfolio theory
  • Strong understanding of equity, fixed income, commodity and currency markets, their key drivers, and their characteristics in a portfolio context
  • Experience developing and pitching trade ideas, preferably across asset classes, regions, and currencies
  • Must thrive in a collaborative environment on a globally diffuse team, and be able to creatively drive innovation
  • Strong communications skills - must be comfortable presenting in various forums including global morning calls, client meetings, and in front of key senior investment and management personnel
  • Proficiency with Excel and Bloomberg
  • Strong technical skills, preferably including at least a few of the following: Python, Factset, Barra, Visual Basic, Matlab, SQL, Morningstar Direct
  • Working knowledge of (and preferably applied experience with) probability, statistics, portfolio optimization, regression modeling, and Monte Carlo with an emphasis on real world implementation
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, preferred.  Fluency in Portuguese considered a plus.
  • 5 - 10 years of investment experience
  • Advanced degrees and designations preferable - MBA / PhD / CFA / FRM
