CTC Credit Risk manages the credit risk of the retained portfolio generated by the Chief Investment Office, Global Treasury and other Corporate businesses (firm-wide pension plan, insurance programs, and Mortgage Servicing Rights).  The CTC Chief Credit Officer reports to the CTC Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and is responsible for the end-to-end credit risk framework within the CTC LOBs.
CTC seeks to hire a credit risk Associate / Vice President to join its EMEA Credit Risk team based in London. This individual will participate in credit risk related matters including conducting analysis of CIO's new and existing investments in debt securities (corporate bonds, municipal and sovereign bonds and securitized products), the development of expected credit loss models and approving counterparties for Treasury’s deployment and hedging activities.  Working in risk management within CTC will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work alongside senior risk management and front office personnel across the firm. With a wide spectrum of asset classes and financial products, CTC is an ideal location from which to gain broad perspective of, and influence, organization-wide risk management decisions.
Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Working alongside portfolio managers to conduct analysis of new investment opportunities.  Product scope includes securitized products (CMBS, RMBS, CLO and other ABS), municipal securities, sovereign and corporate bonds
  • Understanding and monitoring the risk profile of transactions and strategies undertaken by the CTC businesses
  • Development of expected credit loss models for the introduction of CECL and IFRS9
  • Carrying out deep dive analysis on specific products, sectors and risk issues
  • Understanding various risk measures used to determine the credit risk within transactions and managed books including exposure metrics, pre-trade modeling and default parameters
  • Reviewing counterparties for Treasury’s deployment and hedging activities
  • Performing analysis for portfolio stress testing including the annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and quarterly Other-Than-Temporary-Impairment (OTTI) review
  • Partnering with the Front Office, Finance, Valuation Control Group, Model Review Group, Policy, Finance, Technology and Middle Office to continue build-out of the CTC Credit Risk franchise
  • 3+ years’ experience in credit analysis and assessment with a wide range of quantitative, financial and risk management experience
  • Experience of Municipal Finance, Mortgage Backed Securities or Commercial Real Estate lending a strong advantage
  • Post graduate degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Very strong quantitative and analytical background with good grasp of macro-econometric modeling
  • Good knowledge of R / Python environments
  • Able to deep dive into portfolio and produce analysis highlighting key risks
  • Experience with instruments throughout the capital structure
  • Familiarity with bank regulatory capital rules, stress testing and experience with portfolio construction a plus
  • Resourceful, able to work under pressure and multitask effectively
  • Strong critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across businesses, functional areas and geographies
