Role Description
The BCO role is a key role for the business in the current environment.  To meet the increasing demands, the role continues to evolve being focused on governance, ownership, enhancement and execution of controls.  This role will focus on supporting the end to end system of controls that mitigate risk and continuously reduce the Business’ residual risk profile.  The individual will need to establish strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization including senior BCOs, Business Management, OCM, TCO, Compliance and Audit leads, and develop an understanding of the business, its control challenges, the architecture and products.  The role will be located in New York collaborating with the global teams primarily located in London and Hong Kong.
 
Responsibilities
  • Enhance control monitoring and reporting of Investor Services wide control programs:
    • Develop meaningful reports and metrics to be communicated across critical business unit risks
    • Assist in reporting and coordination of various control agenda items,  programs, and metrics including the RCSA , BCCs, Errors, Data Breaches, Issue and Action Plans, Client Complaints
    • Report, escalate and analyze risk events, issues, action plans and risk acceptances
    • Liaise with offshore support staff to ensure timely reporting and administration tasks are transitioned smoothly
    • Produce IS control focused presentation materials for regulatory meetings and townhalls

 

  • Assist in thematic reviews, risk analysis, control deep dives
    • Review action plans ensuring material risks properly mitigated and validate execution and closure
    • Assist in deep dive of errors and risk events to ensure all control gaps are highlighted and appropriate actions taken
    • Analyze Audit and Compliance Testing results against RCSA
    • Assist cross LOB thematic and specific reviews to deliver a consistent and improved control environment and/or address specific regulatory concerns
    • Develop reporting for Cross IS inherent / residual risk and control benchmarking & results analysis
 
  • Participate in CIB working groups and initiatives
    • Manage the execution of the Investor Services Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes in accordance with policies and standards by working closely with the LOB BCO’s and the CIB RCSA team.  Continue to drive the RCSA efficiency and rationalization work.
    • Drive firm wide initiatives across the business and provide input into Firm-wide or Corporate functions as necessary (i.e. UTs, Models, TPO, Benchmarks)
    • Partner with BCOs to deliver on Office of Legal Obligations
Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to drive complex projects across multiple lines of businesses or functional groups
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including ability to succinctly advise management of risks, challenges and potential solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment; keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective, collaborative, cohesive relationships across all levels of organization
  • RCSA knowledge and experience a plus
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word and developing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
