Controls Room India – Firm-wide Oversight and Controls

 

Overview:

The JPMC Controls Room is part of Oversight & Control within the Chief Operating Office.  The Controls Room is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting controls-related data, providing insights and solutions across the firm.  As a member of the Controls Room team, this role will be pivotal in managing key Control reporting deliverables, evaluating report output, establishing connections to firmwide systems and tools, and maintaining data integrity.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for applying data manipulation methods such as machine learning and natural language processing algorithms. This role requires a candidate who can effectively manage diverse, time sensitive deliverables and is technically savvy, utilizing data in various formats and database environments.

 

This role will report into the GSC Oversight & Controls, Controls Room India Lead

 

Responsibilities:

  • Extract data from firmwide systems and tools, and prepare data for analysis / reporting

  • Completion of key deliverables ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and SLAs

  • Develop scalable data preparation,  maintenance, and reporting procedures that can be leveraged by business units and functional areas across the firm

  • Implement data evaluation techniques aimed at measuring business risks and control issues

  • Use data from both internal and external sources to conduct data assessments in a timely manner

  • Develop re-usable tools that can be leveraged by business units across the firm

  • Perform data deep dives as needed using various techniques such as machine learning and text mining. 

  • Collaborate with business managers and developers to integrate the results with existing systems

  • Comply with JPMC procedures and QA best practices to ensure the quality of data, models and outputs

  • Stay abreast of new tools and technologies to practice up-to-date data evaluation strategies

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the firm to integrate results with existing systems and processes

Requirements:
  • Overall 7+ years Data Analytics experience
  • Bachelor’s or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
  • At least 2-3 years experience managing teams in analytics or forecasting space
  • At least 3 years of intensive, recent experience in data mining using SAS, machine learning like Python and text analytics using R
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Qlikview
  • At least 5-7 years of project management, risk and controls and hands-on programming using structured / unstructured data
  • Ability to learn quickly, adjust to changes and think outside the box
  • Experience with Excel, specifically with the creation of pivot tables, graphs and excel functions
  • Experience with operational risk in the banking industry is preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Good verbal/written and inter-personal skills
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and confident
  • Ability to learn quickly, adjust to changes and think outside the box
  • Knowledge of Big Data Concepts / Hadoop is a plus
