An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President / Executive Director to lead the Asia Market Control Officer team.
The Asia Head of Testing and Oversight is part of the Asia Controls Management team, and will be the head of the following two sub-teams: Oversight and Control (O&C) and Business Quality Assurance (BQA).
You will also be an integral senior member of the Controls Management team and will play an important role in strengthening the overall governance of the organization. Further, you will develop subject matter expertise and accountability for the front to end control processes of significant risk themes across the Asia Private Bank (ie. Suitability, Cross border etc). This position requires significant knowledge and background in controls management, process improvement, issue management, and audit/exam preparation.
Accountability for the Oversight and Control Team, which is responsible for :
Overseeing the Business’ Risk and Control Self- Assessment process
Running the New Business Initiative Approval (NBIA) process
Assisting in the management of regulatory reviews and audit exams; reviewing related Action Plans and issue close-out
Supervising end-to-end process reviews and ‘deep dive’ analyses as required
Providing guidance and training around controls, control substantiation and root cause analysis
Accountable for the Business Quality Assurance Team, which is responsible for:
Overseeing the testing and monitoring of business controls
Designing quality Management Information and presenting this in governance committees and fora
Ensuring that all findings are remediated in a timely fashion; pinpointing trending related to this and escalating it as appropriate
Overseeing ad hoc regulatory or audit-related remediation projects
Working with key business stakeholders, legal, risk, and compliance to identify, set and execute against business control priorities
Represent Market Control Officers in various control governance programs (ie. RCSA, NBIA etc)
Driving consistency and sustainability of controls across the region/locations
10+ years of controls related experience and experience managing a diversified team
Understanding of wealth management business including associated products, services, regulatory/control requirements
Demonstrated success in partnering with multiple stakeholders and ability to work across cross-functional teams
