Commercial Banking Controller Team  – External Reporting: The Chicago based Commercial Banking (CB) External Reporting Controller team is responsible for the financial control and external reporting environments, critical to the success of timely and accurate filings with the SEC and regulatory agencies. This opportunity will give you an unparalleled view into the broader CB finance and global finance organization. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and perform monthly/quarterly submissions and validations related to SEC and regulatory reporting (Call report, Y9C, CCAR, etc)
  • Analyze and assist in reporting of data related to loans and allowance for loan losses for external and internal reporting
  • Assist with CB central control functions such as credit costs, legal entity control, fair value control, chart of account management
  • Participate in SOX and RCSA programs
  • Partner with others in the line of business (finance and non-finance) and corporate functions
  • Assist with ad hoc requests for information
  • Create executive level presentation materials
  • Provide assistance with issue resolution
  • Respond to audit (external and internal) inquiry
Projects:
  • Strategize on improving current data capture processes for quarterly reporting
  • Participate in implementation of new controls, strategic solutions, and new FASB standards
  • Participate in system testing and implementation of new external reporting requirements
  • Participate in development of training material and best practices documentation
Qualifications:
  • BA in Accounting
  • CPA or equivalent professional credential; or working towards CPA or equivalent certification
  • 2-4 years accounting experience, banking experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft  PowerPoint
  • Experience with complex Microsoft Excel formulas and able to analyze and maintain existing complex spreadsheets and databases
  • Experience with of SAP, CDGL, BPC, Essbase, CRI/CRRT a plus
