The EMEA CBI is part of Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase and focuses solely on European subsidiaries of US companies with whom we have a banking relationship in the US, and who require traditional banking services in Europe. Within CBI EMEA, Commercial Banking in Luxembourg focuses on subsidiaries based in Luxembourg. This approach brings together integrated banking solutions ranging from cash management to raising capital and structuring complicated financial solutions. Reporting to: Head of Commercial Banking EMEA
The CBI offers professionals an exceptional career opportunity to represent Commercial Banking in Luxembourg as Line of Business lead. In this role you will be responsible to establish and maintain the partnership to local teams outside Commercial Banking at J.P. Morgan in Luxembourg. The individual is responsible to manage the local Commercial Banking operational, risk and business matters. In this role you will work with CBI EMEA partners to enhance the coverage model for Luxembourg CBI clients, which includes developing and enhancing the product and service offering for Luxembourg CBI clients. Specific business and functional aspects will cover:-
  • Oversight of the balance sheet & profitability targets for CBI
  • Assist in defining & managing the regulatory agenda for CBI, working closely with the Risk & Control team under the Global Business Operations Executive in London
  • Ensure full engagement of stakeholders with local and global operational responsibilities
  • Represent CBI at regional business control and risk forums in partnership with the Risk & Control, GFCC and Compliance teams, directed by the Global Business Operations Executive
  • Provide local oversight to Business Control Officer and first and second lines of defense to ensure compliance with and execution of the regulatory agenda impacting the EU Subsidiary’s business, locally and globally
  • Provide an escalation route to the EU Subsidiary CEO for issues identified by Risk & Control functions, business heads or local governance committees
  • Represent and champion the CBI at a location level via participation in management committees and governance forums, ensuring CBI participates in all cross-LOB activities/ initiatives
This role is also defined as a being a Coverage role. The individual will play an integral part in developing financial solutions for selected European clients with a Luxembourg nexus.  This will entail: servicing the specific Banking and cash management needs of & marketing the broad range of the bank’s products to a defined client & prospect base; relationship & portfolio management; and helping our clients navigate the Firm. Other specific responsibilities would include:
  • Promote and sustain strong engagement and mutually beneficial relationships with key internal stakeholders including but not limited to: the Regional CBI teams, US based International Product Specialists (IPSs), US Parent Bankers, product and service delivery partners, Investment Banking teams, Underwriters and Credit Committees, Legal, Compliance, mid and back office support teams across the firm.
  • Recognizing the importance of Treasury Services to our clients, work with key product partners to deliver cash management solutions across the region.
  • Maintain and cultivate local subsidiary contacts and relationships to increase revenue and cross sell product to existing customer base. Typical requirements will focus on treasury services, cross-border FX payments and some credit related products.
  • Provide the necessary oversight and local accountability to support Commercial Banking’s KYC processes, up to and including attesting to the quality & integrity of Due Diligence Forms and EMEA Addenda. All documentation to conform to JPMC policy.
  • Maintain open, clear, fluid communication with stakeholders, i.e., US Bankers, IPSs and product partners, locally and overseas.
  • Foster a positive environment and culture for EMEA staff.
  • Demonstrate the Key Leadership Principles for a culture lead reinforcing the JPM Business Principals.

Continued training seminars in sales, operations, systems and product knowledge will prepare you for further responsibilities. We encourage initiative and provide you with opportunities to assume significant responsibility quickly. Regular travel within the region and periodic trips to the US necessary.

Qualifications / Experience
  • Degree level qualification with previous relevant experience in Treasury Services sales, corporate relationship management, or portfolio management with proven problem solving experience is preferred.
  • Broad commercial banking product knowledge and/or experience would be an advantage – cash management, payment FX, overdrafts and traditional trade products etc. Knowledge of treasury services products a clear advantage.
  • A good track record in growing revenues and achieving cross-selling goals.
  • Experience dealing with regulators
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, time management and analytical skills are required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Sponsor and actively promote local employees’ while instilling the firm’s values.
  • Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills including the ability to negotiate with external clients and internal banking partners.
  • Ability to multi-task within a dynamic environment to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Fluent in English and French, with other western European languages being an advantage.
