 The Global Liquidity technology team is responsible for all Front Office applications supporting over $450bn Money Market Assets being managed for the Institutional Management Global Liquidity Line of Business (LOB).  The team is responsible for managing the technology to deliver and front office trading platform facing external clients of JP Morgan (for institutional liquidity products).

 Global Liquidity is undertaking an aggressive platform re-engineering to transform the trading, portfolio management and credit management platforms from their current technologies to dynamic web based platforms.  We are building best in class applications and API’s that will meet trader, regulatory, performance and functional needs.

 In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership; managing and running scrum team(s)
  • Engineering a world-class platform with an eye towards rapid iteration and creative problem solving.
  • Prototyping innovative and creative solutions quickly, and collaborating with others in crafting and implementing your technical vision.
  • Contributing and collaborating in creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions, while working with existing JPMorgan technologies and infrastructure.
  • Identifying opportunities for process and tool improvements and driving those from concept to implementation.
  • R&D in emerging technologies.
  • Displaying strong communication and problem solving skills as well as translating business requirements into a robust technology solution. In addition, multi-tasking across applications is a key requirement for this position.
  • The candidate will also display team player characteristics and while working in a collaborative environment with both technology development and support teams to deliver the business roadmap.

Internal and external Qualifications:

  • Hands on technical experience and desire to be deeply technical
  • 10+ years of Java middle tier development experience
  • 10+ years of experience using relational databases (Oracle, Sybase etc.) (Dynamic SQL, stored procedures, tuning for performance etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of server side design patterns and continuous delivery principles
  • 10+ years of hands on experience with standard frameworks like Spring, Hibernate etc.
  • Functional programming experience using java 1.8 or similar.
  • Experience with distributed computing infrastructures
  • Experience with performance tuning and  memory profiling
  • Experience building/enhancing testing frameworks (unit, regression, integration, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong team player and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Skills:

  • Full stack development across all three tiers GUI, Java and DB(oracle)
  • Experience using CI tools like Jenkins or similar
  • Cloud computing and micro services architecture experience
  • Domain Knowledge of the Finance industry in general and Asset Management in particular preferred
