Role Overview:

 

Reporting into a Project Manager within the Product Development team, the candidate will join a team of project managers and business analysts responsible for the execution of projects within the Inbound function. The team will consist of a project manager, business analysts, developers, testers and ops subject matter experts.

 

The role involves the support of multiple projects and features in the overall backlog of the team. These projects range from short duration of 1-3 months, to projects that can run for over 12 months and impact multiple business areas and/or clients.

 

The position will require a variety of skills utilizing Business Analysis skills and project coordination. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to perform all skills in a multitude of ongoing overlapping projects.

 

Key Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Detailed Business Analysis including:
    • Lead the mapping of as-is and to be models to identify assumptions, risks, dependencies and constraints
    • Shape, define and document the product road map, breaking features into sizable epics and user stories in collaboration with the Product Owner and SMEs
    • Pre-ABC and for each sprint, lead the elicitation, documentation and validation of user stories
    • Document user stories including defining conditions of satisfaction
    • For each sprint, support and in many cases lead story kick off, grooming sessions and retrospectives
    • Source and analyze data to validate assumptions
    • Conduct technical analysis including data modeling, system interface mapping etc
  • Solution Design, Assessment & Validation – Leverage subject matter expertise to define solutions, working with operations, technology and Product teams. Source and use data to validate assumptions and designs and provide solutions by example
  • Testing - execute user acceptance testing of new software to ensure key conditions of satisfaction have been met.
  • Change management and operational readiness - Work with the product owner, operational teams clients and other stakeholders who will be impacted by the change to assess impacts. Prepare necessary material to communicate and document the change and obtain buy-in to support that change from these stakeholder groups including training manuals and client communications. Conduct training as needed. Arrange user access/entitlements and with Product Owner, review risk and control changes with OCM and other control functions.
  • Project Management - provide direction to Business Analyst on priorities, quality of deliverables and act as escalation point in resolution of issues and mitigation of risks etc. Work with project manager, product owner and tech lead to resolve issues related to requirements and/or design of applications and business processes

Required skills/experience:

 

  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across APAC including Programme Management in Australia, Operations teams in Australia, Philippines and India and development teams in India
  • Project Delivery Experience – experience working within project management disciplines such as Agile
    • 5-8 years’ experience in business analysis related roles within financial services industry (preferably with Agile/Scrum methodology)
  • Clear understanding of superannuation & investment management middle-office and back-office activities an advantage
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Powerpoint (advanced), Visio (advanced), Excel (intermediate), Project
  • Data mapping and transformation experience would be an advantage
  • Experience working with HiPortfolio is desirable
  • Experience working with JIRA is desirable
  • Experience interrogating data sources e.g. writing SQL queries, is desirable
  • Highly motivated with a positive ‘can do’ attitude – adaptable, versatile
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate a matrix organisation and build networks across multiple areas of the business
  • Well-developed problem solving capability – drive issues through to resolution
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing change improvements – champion of change
  • Ability to multi-task
