Business Background:

The Global Fixed Income Securities Middle Office is primarily responsible for the trade management and control of both the standard and nonstandard elements of the business.

 

The focus of the group is one of control.  This particular position is in the Financing Middle Office and relates to the NA Financing business. The business involves vanilla repo as well as a variety of different repo strategies and interest rate products. There is a far greater slant to the management of the operational risk of this business and a great deal of effort is necessary to ensure tight controls around the numerous trade and system flows.  

 

As a Trade Support Analyst you will monitor, analyze, and process transactions via the front-end system. You will be accountable for facilitating the accurate and timely entry of Financing transactions. Daily trade processes that you will be responsible for are: deal maintenance functions, regulatory reporting, identifying trade discrepancies, unmatched trades, and the potential risk related to trades. You will be required to handle complex operational/settlement problems under general supervision. You will also be responsible for performing a daily trade reconciliation of positions and trades.  On a daily basis you will be interacting with counterparties, traders, immediate supervisors, and settlements. 

 

Strong analytical thinking coupled with strong IT skills is. In addition, the ability to understand and manage the multitude of flows between the various clients plus the numerous downstream systems flows is essential, hence the operational nature of the role.

 

The responsibilities of the Trade Support Analyst are:

·         To understand the cash flows associated with each trade and to work with the accounting and settlement teams to ensure that settlement is accurate and timely.

·         Trade maintenance for all trades/structures.

·         To be able to identify areas of improvement and implement new procedures or to change existing process flows to ensure tight controls front to back.
