Our Team
 
Strategic Programs Group is a project management team, focusing on defining strategy, solutions and plans to manage change initiatives impacting the Wealth Management (WM) Business.  Our Initiatives are both regulatory and business driven, focusing on business improvement, growth, expansion and enhanced controls.  The team works cross-functionally with product specialists, front office advisors, legal, risk management, compliance, operations, technology, middle office and marketing to implement and execute large scale projects.
 
The Associate will manage the development, implementation and on-going support of projects that meet the strategic vision of the Business. The focus of this role will be business driven initiatives across the Wealth Management space.  The size and duration of each project will vary but the objectives will focus on similar key aspects such as risk mitigation, process efficiency, technology enablement and business metrics reporting.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage a project or multiple projects independently with direct reporting to senior management. Design and manage project milestones. Determine appropriate measures for self and for others to achieve the project goals.
  • Define project scope and identify key stakeholders. Play active role in scoping projects, definition and milestone setting.
  • Design and deploy project materials efficiently to stakeholders and to project team. Identify potential risks, issues and dependencies and path to mitigation or resolution
  • Keep updated on WM innovations, changes to business model, utilize business knowledge
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn, understand, break down issues, and educate others on complex topics. Design and coordinate the documentation of new processes. Identify and communicate efficiently upfront/downstream impacts with other project streams. Impart knowledge and educate team to bridge knowledge gaps and raise understanding and productivity.
  • Be proactive, and deploys "out of the box" mind-set,  in the creation of solutions and ideas to remove obstacles and increase business success
  • Make sound decisions considering the perspective of all critical stakeholders
  • Able to proactively identify/syndicate potential solutions and drive execution with little to no guidance
  • Think in a non-linear fashion: consider client needs from multiple angles and create opportunities to leverage across a variety of products/services and various ways to deliver them
  • Be recognized by the business as a key player. Escalate issues and identify solutions to complete project milestones on a timely manner with limited resources
  • Communicate a clear and compelling purpose relevant to the business strategy/goals for a decision/function/project
  • Able to coordinate and solicit well represented opinions and feedback from a group with diverse perspectives to reach a common, best solution.  Communicate clear messages to the team, guide and motivate
  • Encourage collaboration, information sharing and discussion to break down silos, create synergies and share best practices
  • Lead meetings with senior leaders and sponsors to efficiently and effectively reach productive results
  • Anticipate potential risks, problems and provide solutions to mitigate risks. Identify, communicate and implement appropriate internal controls. Takes ownership where appropriate. Manage RCSAs through to resolution. Stay current on regulatory developments. Demonstrate skill at balancing client needs  within given regulatory and risk parameters; keep abreast of regulatory developments
 
 
 
 
Qualifications
Must be a highly energetic self-starter with a relentless focus on execution and exhibit the ability to:
  • Define and analyze problem statements and translate into tangible solutions
  • Develop detailed operating model for business changes
  • Own end-to-end implementation projects including assessment, planning, project management, execution and evaluation
  • Proven project management capability and/or previous experience of working directly with products (sales / trading / supervision, product development, etc.). 
  • Organized and comprehensive project management approach
  • Analysis and prioritization of alternative solutions to drive results
  • Maintain a positive attitude and act as team player while delivering on high priority, time sensitive initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to both develop and recommend solutions to stakeholders as well as influence them to transform the current state within milestones pre-set
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are paramount
  • Influence senior leaders in a cross functional, diverse environment to change status quo
  • Advanced interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work with people at all levels across all functions and establish trust from stakeholders and sponsors around decision making and execution capabilities.
Experience:
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape across the US. Candidates with experience working on Regulatory initiatives and/or Projects are particularly sought
  • Financial services/business consultancy background, preferably in Wealth Management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams
