As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. The goal of Data engineering MIS Program is to provide solution and associated services for capture, storage, retention, and visualization of data within the GWM space. The overall Platform provides solutions towards management of structured and unstructured data associated with core data and functional data within various work streams. The end goal is to provide storage of data and produce MIS reports for various business streams within the group.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

       Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

       Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 

       Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

       Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

       Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages

       Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

       You'll have work on Big Data stack and should know Spark, Pig, MapReduce and Hive.

       You will have a sound understanding of areas such as test driven development (TDD), BDD and would be required working in a forward thinking environment.

       You will define, develop, test, analyze, the current ETL processes and convert them to datasets for storage in HDFS and HBase/Cassandra. This includes staging, coding, testing datasets and the analysis of data.

       You should be willing to program/develop software using different programming languages.

       You will utilize mature programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while following the complete SDLC of understanding the requirement to coding to releasing it into higher environments up to Production.

       You will be part of the team for transforming the existing platform on ETL to a strategic platform build in cutting edge technologies within the big data platform. This would require you to carry custom development, customization and integration with in-house solutions and vendor solutions leading to a complete platform that caters to key business requirements.

  • ·         Bachelor’s Degree with specialized coursework in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • ·         5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade data integration solution
  • ·         Good knowledge of any one of the programming languages Java, Python or Scala. Good understanding of Linux system.
  • ·         Should be capable of programming in any of the object oriented languages.
  • ·         Should have worked on database technologies and be expected to provide frameworks and code in various technologies including Scala, Java, Hadoop, Splunk, Informatica and others.
  • ·         You have expertise in data stores (both transactional and non-transactional), and can code in a highly concurrent environment.
  • ·         Prior ETL development job experience required; 2+ years of experience ideal
  • ·         Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations. Experience of Agile or Lean methodologies is crucial.
  • ·         Ability to learn quickly, manage work independently and is a team player
  • ·         Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies to ensure the early and continuous delivery of software
  • ·         Proven ability to create and execute queries, pivot tables and reports from database sources.
