Overview

A critical priority for Asset Management is to ensure that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our clients' needs. The Asset Wealth Management (AWM) Chief Data Office (CDO) defines AWM's data strategy and support for the core data used across AWM and needed to run our business, such as client data, reference data, product data, securities and pricing data, transactions and holdings, and index data. The AWM CDO is positioned in the Asset Wealth Management Operations division, within AWM Center.  We work with the AWM business and Firm wide CDO to analyze data, ensure data governance and data quality standards are in place, look for efficiencies in business processes, and work with our technology partners to implement solutions.

 

The Strategic Data Adoption Program Manager will be responsible for defining, implementing and executing AWM CDO’s overall Data strategy for production, distribution and consumption of golden source data sets from systems of record/authoritative data sources via the target state AWM technology solution – Enterprise Data Platform Interface (EDPi).

 

The Strategic Data Adoption Program Manager will collaborate with AWM Chief Technology Officers and associated Application Owners, Information architects, CDO data executives, data stewards and Business Management for leading the overall planning and execution of data adoption from authoritative data sources to support consistent data consumption across AWM to meet business requirements.  Specific areas of focus include:

 

1)      Data Adoption Planning – Determining in scope applications for EDPi data consumption by CTO group and detailed data requirements.

 

2)      Data Requirements Delivery – working with System of Record data owners (tech and business), CDO Data Executives, information architects and the EDPi team, prioritize data onboarding to the EDPi platform and ensure consuming application requirements are met to enable strategic data adoption.

 

3)      Data Consumption – leading the effort at the technical application level across AWM to increase the level of adoption of EDPi data and remove dependency on legacy data sources

 

4)      Technical Tooling improvement – working with technology developers, provide appropriate interfaces and tools to meet business and consuming application needs to efficiently understand available data sets and connect to EDPi

 

The Strategic Data Adoption Program Manager will be responsible for creating and managing granular scorecards for tracking and achieving desired data adoption target state by each CTO group and in-scope application, and will deliver executive presentations for use at the AWM Data Management Council, AM & WM Data Steering Groups and other executive forums.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute the data adoption strategy in Asset & Wealth Management including technical requirements, planning and data delivery oversight
  • Improve technical tools supporting strategic data adoption
  • Develop key metrics and reporting that include key messages, milestones for EDPi adoption effectiveness, and overall status
  • Prepare presentations and materials for key stakeholder and senior executive reviews including data program book of work forums, Asset & Wealth Management Data Management Council, AWM Data Governance & Data Quality Governance Forum.
  • Manage issues escalated by technical and business producers and consumers of data on EDPi
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders including AM and WM CTOs, Application Owners and Business Managers for product and functional teams in AWM including Risk, Finance and Operations

       Desired Experience and Skills

  • 10 years in Financial Services or Consulting in complex program and Stakeholder management
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience for large-scale initiatives
  • 5+ or more years of experience in Data Governance covering data strategy execution, and metadata management
  • Experience defining and executing strategic technical programs including infrastructure and development efforts using Agile Methodology
  • Outstanding program management and delivery skills
  • Ability to conduct independent review and analysis of application level data requirements and data availability in systems of record
  • Deep experience working with business partners to achieve results through data driven technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated track record of a high level of personal initiative and leadership, and of setting and achieving challenging goals.
  • Independent, organized, self-motivated and a team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with a fine attention to detail and ability to present to senior executives
  • Strong interpersonal leadership, partnership and influencing skills – ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like manner and achieve goals without direct control over resources.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to quickly define and deconstruct problems leveraging strong analytical and end-to-end problem solving skills.
  • Possesses excellent judgment, knowing when to escalate complex issues to senior management or functional partners with relevant expertise.
  • Adaptable to work in an evolving and changeable environment.
  • Technical knowledge of and experience with Hadoop, SQL, Oracle and Java desired
  • Advanced skills with the core MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and standard PM tools; Familiarity with process-mapping tools (e.g. MS Visio, etc.)
