An opportunity is available to join the Hong Kong team of J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Bank in the capacity of an Associate located in Hong Kong supporting the International Coverage Executives (ICEs) in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

The ICEs are responsible for the overall relationship management and banking as well as transaction services requirements of the APAC subsidiaries of our US headquartered clients.  Leveraging the firm’s capabilities to meet our clients’ domestic and international financial needs, the team provides dedicated client service, local market expertise and industry knowledge, combined with active coordination, domestically, regionally and internationally of J.P. Morgan’s extensive product and service expertise to deliver comprehensive solutions across multiple product and service disciplines. Traditional Commercial Banking product and service capabilities include but are not limited to treasury services, trade finance, bilateral and syndicated commercial lending, foreign exchange and investment banking.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

A)     Support the ICEs (HK and Taiwan) to manage and develop a growing portfolio of clients across industries with responsibilities including (but not limited to):

 

     Client related:

  • Assist with on-boarding new clients, remediation and maintenance of the existing portfolio, including client due diligence, KYC, AML and other requirements
  • Supporting ICEs to work closely with US based International Product Specialists (IPS) and US Parent Bankers to increase wallet share of existing clients as well as cross-sell products, annual reviews and portfolio statistical reporting
  • Credit Analysis and support including assessment of credit transactions, analysis of financial information, documentation requirements including cross-border and local booking office approvals
  • Act as the escalation point for operations referral and client’s services related matters  

      Administrative:

  • Manage the sales pipeline, book timely client call memos, be responsible for preparation of proposals/presentations for existing and prospect clients
  • Work with HQ team, CB regional, global client coverage and deal teams, Client Service, Operations, Product, Legal & Compliance to optimize product and service delivery to clients
  • Size market opportunity, identify, solicit & develop CB relationships by active local prospecting and execution of key deals originated from the US and APAC
  • Prepare internal briefing memo for senior visits 

B)      Manage HK Network Clients portfolio with responsibilities including (but not limited to): 

  • Maintain the existing portfolio of Network clients, including client due diligence, KYC, AML and other requirements
  • Support client’s banking services requirement.  Typical client requirement will focus on all banking products including cash management, liquidity, trade, FX and credit
  • Obtain necessary approvals to on-board new Network clients which are referred by IPS and US Parent Bankers
  • Identify growth opportunities or manage to exit clients
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience covering corporate clients with specific focus on MNC coverage for transaction banking and other services
  • Experience in working with coverage bankers and supporting their client relationship
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury Services products including cash management, liquidity and cross-border products would be a key requirement
  • Willingness and ability to work with multiple stakeholders on KYC / On-boarding documentation and processes
  • Prior work experience in helping with preparation of presentations, RFP proposals and other similar documents
  • Background in client service or KYC related functions
  • Proven ability to work professionally and effectively across diverse products and services
  • Excellence in oral and written communication with proven strength for personal engagement
  • Flexibility to co-ordinate, manage multiple transactions and processes while ensuring delivery against deadlines, client expectations and business priorities
  • Ability to work consistently across different time zones and geographies dealing with numerous stakeholders
  • Self-starting with clear results orientation and a capacity to operate independently, appropriately balancing short, medium and long term objectives 
  • Enthusiastic and team orientated

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English & Mandarin. Cantonese is an advantage 
Formal Qualifications:
  • Degree Qualified in Business, Finance, Accounting and/or Economics
