As an associate in F&O Sales, you will help maintain relationships with our counterparts in EMEA and Asia as well as established desk clients. You will work with trading and research teams to provide comprehensive client coverage, including fulfilling client requests for market updates, assisting with execution of client orders and providing clients with market intelligence. You will be responsible for the trade execution process including trade booking and verification, managing our global order book, and follow-up.  You will be placed on the New York Fixed Income Sales and Execution desk.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Junior execution sales specialist to assist senior sales team with execution of fixed income, equity index and commodity futures and options.
  • Handle internal and external execution flow from our global order management book as well as be the primary point of contact on our follow-the-sun phone line.  Coordinate global orders with our partners in Asia and London.
  • Listen closely to clients (internal or external) and translate information into concise points.  Understand market terminology. Learn different selling and client management styles by observing others. Effectively service clients through timely and accurate execution of orders as well as other requests including, but not limited to commission rate and trade break queries.
  • Know players in immediate work group within front office and support areas and what they can provide for clients.  Be effective at getting people to do their part to effect key steps in a transaction.  Listen well and effectively translate information from key partners.
  • Understand drivers of relevant markets.  Very proficient with market and product lingo. Show high degree of interest in learning about other products, and develop cross-product proficiency.
  • We are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail. You should be someone who thrives on the challenge of competitive pressures. You should also be able to remain focused on client needs and work well with colleagues in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter.
