EEA Commercial Bank International Banking Risk and Control Officer
The Commercial Bank EEA Risk and Control Officer will report to the International Banking Operations Executive, in support of the International Banking segment within Commercial Banking. They will be responsible for developing and managing a best in class control environment for the Commercial Bank
Key Responsibilities include:
Controls and Compliance
Under the direction of the Commercial Bank International Banking Operations Executive the individual will work with risk and control partners across the bank to ensure that the Commercial Bank is in full compliance with all applicable banking regulations
Supporting all International Banking audits and Compliance Field Tests, including analyzing any findings, helping International Banking Leadership in providing appropriate management Response, leading any required remediation efforts and working to improve controls
Collaborate with Audit, Oversight & Control and Compliance, Operational Risk Oversite (ORO), Regulatory Operations Office (ROO) and Legal to ensure International Banking processes are tightly aligned to regulatory and policy requirements.
Represent the Commercial Bank on local and regional governance forums
Partner with CB Oversight & Control regarding control programs related to Inter-affiliate Services, new business initiatives etc.
Oversee the control environment ensuring the following:
Risk Control Self Assessments are developed and maintained for all key areas.
Ensure that Action Plans resulting from internal review, audits and exams are effectively managed and completed
Identify specific processes that need to be improved and work with mangers in International Banking to enhance these processes and implement controls
Work with business to develop procedures and documentation to support processes
Prepare and present regular executive updates summarizing results.
Evaluate areas of emerging risks across International Banking
Develop a comprehensive and thoughtful communication strategy for the integrated controls program that is understandable and accessible by bankers, managers and other key partners
Managing production of International Banking Risk Program status reporting
Helping to ensure the right risk management culture is in place across the business
Ensuring that employees have access to the right information and training to ensure the right control environment
Perform on-going control testing and quality assurance review on a day-to-day basis
Provide oversight adherence to International Banking policies and procedures, KYC (overdue KYC, overdue DDFs, DDF quality), AML/OFAC survey process and risk and control communications.
Advanced experience in/knowledge of more than one of the following areas: TS or credit operations, compliance, sales/on-boarding/after sales support, specific understanding of the International regulatory environment
Must have extensive experience in financial services industry
Ability to navigate the executive level of the Firm
Ability to work in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment to build consensus
Strong analytical and planning skills
Advanced program management skills required
Some travel required
