Typical Day

  • You'll use current coding methodologies to support Chase IT platforms and contribute to technical code documentation.
  • In addition, you will attend technology design meetings and recommend security and data improvements to designers as well as work with Marketing and Execution Operations to develop and test new applications while adhering to all IT control policies.
  • The Application Developer will identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues to provide superior feedback for approved user documentation.

 

What Education/Experience do I Need?

  • You have at least 3 years of Application Development work experience in a client server environment that demonstrates exceptional technical design, coding, testing and debugging skills.
  • 5+ years experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
  • 5+ years experience with Java.
  • 3+ years experience with a J2EE/EJB Application Server (preferably WebLogic).
  • 3+ years experience working in both Unix and Windows environments.
  • In addition, you will be qualified if you understand business requirements, can write functional requirements, develop detailed technical designs, and build / unit / system test application code.

Other Requirements

Experience in VB, COM, ACTIVE-X programming and design, Oracle, PL/SZL, Unix shell scripting.

Do I Have an Edge Over Other Candidates?

Yes, if you have working knowledge of Java/J2EE technology along with version and revision control practices, experience with JMS and Messaging Products (preferably WebSphere MQ) and 3+ years experience working with Web Services (preferably using WebLogic or Apache Axis).

 

Ideal Personality Traits

Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills are required; expert interpersonal skills; confidence to participate in planning sessions that outline IT solutions that reach business goals.

  • Exposure to Open Source technologies (Ant, Anthill, Junit, XDoclet, Log4J, IBatis).
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS.
