CIB Credit Risk Management is responsible for lending activities and related credit exposures within JPMorgan’s Investment Bank. The group is organized by geography with teams aligned by industry. CIB Credit Risk Managers lead the client credit relationship in partnership with CIB Coverage and Global Corporate Banking.

 
Specifically, CIB Credit Risk Management:
  • Remains current on all aspects of the credit relationship, including exposure, compliance, potential risks and opportunities 
  • Provides credit expertise in structuring loan and derivative transactions
  • Leads or assists in negotiating and finalizing legal documentation for loans and derivatives
  • Prepares credit analysis and seeks approval for all transactions, including loans, derivatives, and operating exposures as part of a deal team
  • Works with CIB Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for clients
  • Provides a cohesive and comprehensive approach to review internal ratings, risk assessment, portfolios, clients and industries in their sector
  • Performs Agent role for closed syndicated transactions, including negotiating and documenting amendments and waivers
  • Interfaces with regulators during their continuous monitoring of the CIB credit portfolio
 
Job Duties:
 
CRM analysts manage a portfolio of clients on an ongoing basis and support the due diligence and credit approval process for a broad variety of CIB transactions. This position is an experienced Analyst role within the North American Credit Risk Management team covering CIB clients across the Consumer, Retail and Healthcare industries. Specific duties will include the following:
  • Conduct business and financial due diligence on loan, bond and equity transactions, including private equity and corporate deals
  • Monitor a portfolio of clients within the consumer, retail and healthcare sectors focusing on exposure originating from the CIB, trading desks, and Treasury Services 
  • Support senior team members in structuring facilities and negotiating legal documentation on transactions
  • Collaborate with deal teams including product partners (e.g. DCM, traders, IB coverage), credit executives and legal counsel
  • Prepare transaction approval memos, annual client reviews and industry risk reviews
  • Proactively manage existing corporate clients in consultation with CRM Bankers & Credit Executives, including monitoring and recommending internal credit ratings
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the consumer, retail and healthcare industries and key risks facing clients as well as internal credit policies and procedures
  • Prepare financial statement analysis and build financial models, including DCF and LBO models
  • Present credit views and recommendations to senior Credit Executives and internal committee members
  • Process and oversee credit line setup, coordinating actively with middle office to ensure that exposures are reflected in systems
  • Lead ad hoc team projects and respond to frequent requests from regulatory authorities
 
 
We look for candidates who possess strong accounting, finance, analytical and modeling skills.
 
The following qualifications are also required:
  • A demonstrated interest in corporate finance, credit or capital markets with some accounting and corporate finance coursework 
  • Experience in financial modeling is preferred but not required 
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks
  • Must be able to work well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment with good time management
  • Prepared to distill information from a variety of sources into credit recommendations for a senior audience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
