The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.


Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy.

This position is for a Senior Business Manager to support Margin & Collateral Services Technology (MaCS) organization which provides the technology for Margin & Collateral management across lines of business (CIB Prime Services, Custody & Fund Services, and CIB Markets) and partners with Product owners, other Technology groups and GTI-Infrastructure to deliver and support the technology platforms.


The Business Manager role is dynamic and will be responsible, with the lead business manager, for the oversight, control, and analysis of financial and resource planning, forecasting, and technology delivery across both MaCS and IS QA organizations.


This role is global in scope and demands working knowledge of technology project financials and processes as well as the ability to communicate with partners and peers in technology, finance and the LOBs.  It will encompass:

Business /Finance Management
  • Partner with Technology and Corporate Finance teams to develop a financial plan and efficiency agenda. Monitor performance against plan and explain variances
  • Oversee forecasting process and measures results against agreed objectives
  • Assist with annual planning process and analysis for the organization
  • Assist the lead business manager and IT senior lead to communicate year on year spend, focusing on forward looking analysis of spend rolling on and off; multi-year planning
  • Manage lines of business reporting against agreed objectives
Program Governance
  • Work closely with Technology leads to provide oversight and transparency of technology portfolio. Monitor project financials against plan/forecast and highlight issues, risks and opportunities in proactive manner. Address adhoc and routine inquiries from Product and Finance teams and help gather inputs for timely responses.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance & Accounting teams to provide targeted audience with value added management information reports on expense, delivery and organizational governance.
  • Partner with the IT management to validate the data in source systems
Process Improvement
  • Partners across Investor Services Business Management teams to develop new or improved processes and business solutions to accommodate for a dynamic environment

  • 7-12 years experience in a Finance and/or Business Management environment, supporting a technology team
  • Financial planning and analysis experience is preferred
  • Financial industry experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Excellent / Advanced skills in MS Office Suite: Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of  MS Access a plus
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • Project accounting and reporting for technology
