Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Compliance team plays a critical role in developing and maintaining a strong compliance culture by working closely with management, Legal, Risk and Audit functions to advise on regulatory compliance matters. CCB Compliance identifies, measures, manages and controls compliance-related risks while monitoring and testing the adequacy of CCB’s compliance control environment.
 
Consumer Banking Compliance testing is a risk-based independent point-in-time review of policies and procedures, processes, controls or data sources used for managing compliance risk. The objective of Compliance Testing is to test the design and operating effectiveness of key compliance-related processes and controls related to regulatory requirements for business areas within the Consumer Bank.
 
The Compliance Associate performs as a member of a coordinated testing team overseeing and executing compliance and regulatory tests. Testing activities include coordination of tests, formal test planning, detailed transactional or file reviews, formulating results, raising issues formally and included in written final reports and finalizing detailed work papers supporting and evidencing the work that has been performed.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Plan tests based upon JPMC's compliance Global Monitoring and Testing Standards
  • Conduct regulatory compliance risk assessment reviews by evaluating line of business internal processes and controls through the performance of testing/validations.
  • Develop final reports based upon the results of testing
  • Partner with the businesses to develop effective action plans to address deficiencies identified
  • Understand and implement sound testing and sampling methodologies
  • Participate in the planning and development of testing activities as it relates to the establishment of the regulatory testing program
  • Accurately and effectively document the entire testing process in required templates.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by Compliance Testing Management.
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong auditing or compliance testing background in Consumer Banking, Regulatory Compliance (3-5 years)
  • Knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations governing the consumer banking business
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented individual who is able to work independently under minimal supervision with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving, skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks and sensitive information in a professional manner in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize and present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven ability to grasp new concepts / requirements and translate into test plans
  • Works well individually and in team environments
