 As a Software Engineer Lead, you will work as a consultative team member. Solutions Architects function as Hadoop team leads for engagements to support the implementation of AtScale or other Hadoop  OLAP tools( AtScale,Kyvos or other OLAP on Hadoop). Engaging from Proof of Concept (POC) stages through to implementation of complex distributed production environment, you work collaboratively to successfully deploy and implement AtScale in the production environment. You’ve got the technical depth to roll up your sleeves to work with Hadoop and Hive and the polish present best practices and other solutions as needed.

 

Responsibilities

  •  Experience with Congo’s Reporting and Congo’s modeling tools set (Relational and Dimensional modeling, with all aspects of the Cognos BI tool, Report Studio, Workspace, Event Studio, Framework Manager, Dynamic Cubes Designer).
  • Good working experience with in Tableau visualization / Reporting, creating dashboards, designing and developing BI reporting and analytics, by connecting to Live/Extract to the Data source.
  • Experience designing and implementing reporting and visualization for unstructured and structured data sets
    Self-starter with out-of-the box problem solving skills who can independently drive results
  • Experience in one of Big Data Consumption OLAP tools( AtScale,Kyvos or other OLAP on Hadoop).
  • Experience of scalable data management tools including Relational and NoSQL databases, Big Data architectures a strong plus
  • Experience working with HDFS (Hortonworks,  Cloudera)
  • Good experience in requirements intake, analysis, design, modeling, development, quality assurance and support. Work directly with business users and analysts in comprehending business requirements and modeling appropriate Business Analytics to meet requirements.
  • Strong in Agile Development and experience with SCRUM or similar  methodologies
  • Overall 8-10 years of experience

Experience and Skills

  • BS or higher in Computer Sciences or related field
  • BI Experience a must (Tableau, Cognos, Qlik, BO, SSAS)
  • Experience in one of Big Data Consumption OLAP tools( AtScale,Kyvos or other OLAP on Hadoop).
  • Being meticulous about tracking things and follow-through.
  • Work with customers on how to use the AtScale Design Center for modeling solutions
  • Java, Scala, Python, Shell Scripting a plus
  • 8+ years of Professional Services (customer facing) experience architecting large scale storage, data center and /or globally distributed solutions
  • Experience in Hadoop related tools and technologies is a must (HDFS and/or MapReduce, HBase, Hive, Spark, Impala)
  • Java, Scala, Python, Shell Scripting a plus
  • Ability to understand big data use-cases and recommend standard design patterns commonly used in Hadoop-based deployments
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, especially OLAP
  • Familiarity with semantic layers and creating dimensional models.
  • Knowledge of complex data pipelines and data transformation
