This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
 
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience in both Systems Engineering and Software development
  • Proficiency in at least one of these disciplines:
  • Internals of distributed Operating System (Unix/Linux, Windows, Z/OS)
  • Experience using system and software security and entitlements such as SSO, windows, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD and experience with new and emerging technologies such as cloud and virtualization
  • The position encompasses the engineering, installation, support and administration of the group's three major business intelligence platforms that include: SAP's Business Objects, IBM's Cognos, and Qlik's QlikView and QlikSense. 
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the service owners, the operations teams, and clients of the services to ensure the performance and stability of the platform as well as act as a level 3 support resource for the service 5 to 7 years engineering, administration, and support of one or more (preferred) of the platforms listed above and experience with system performance tuning and trouble shooting.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience with the technology processes utilizing tools such as: UNIX/LINUX shell languages, Windows based scripting languages or API programming including REST interfaces (JAVA, JavaScript).  Understanding of Agile development practices, including continuous integrations and testing platforms.
  • Development (reports, dashboards, etc.) and Administration experience with Cognos 10 & 11 .Net or Java/JavaScript experience in accessing Cognos through API, Linux Shell scripting (Bash), Windows PowerShell or Python experience used in automating administrative tasks for 3rd party software and SQL development, testing and performance review as it pertains to reporting from the Cognos platform for one or more of the following database tools: Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Hadoop, HANA
