This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
  • Ten+ years of Application Development and / or Solutions Engineering and Design experience specifically in the Application Monitoring, User Experience Monitoring, and Capacity Mgt related disciplines.
  • Advanced to Expert knowledge in various Monitoring tools, such as:
    • APM tools (AppDynamics, Wily, Geneos, DynaTrace, etc.)
    • Synthetic or UE tools (Apica, BSM / Topaz, Gomez / Keynote, etc.)
    • Splunk / Elastic Search (and other data visualization tool sets)
  • Identify and drive automation and analytics through software and tools – implementing highly scalable, fault-tolerant multi-tiered enterprise class monitoring and support solutions.
  • Act as lead developer for the Monitoring Services team:
    • Identify automation opportunities in all on-boarding and previously on-boarded products
    • Coordinate the setup and application of automation and monitoring tools to ensure coverage of environment and efficient use of tools and automation over manual processes.
    • Data/Analytics – identify and produce dashboards and data extracts to measure and produce analytics that can be used to identify tool/automation enhancements as well as service and efficiency gains.
    • Gather application monitoring requirements from L2/3 Teams and provide the strategy and direction in aligning the operations solutions with tools and technologies.
  • Participate in application/Infrastructure capacity planning, trend analysis, and performance forecasting exercises and propose recommendations and solutions to enhance automation and eliminate other manual processes to allow team to scale to demands without exponentially growing the team.
  • Provide strategic Service and Tool consulting to customers/stakeholders to ensure services align with need.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the monitoring solutions development team - to enhance tool performance and service.
Software Development responsibilities:
  • Automation – Identify opportunities to automate and develop automation workflows with common bank tools.
  • Dashboards Development – CORE, Tableau, COGNOS, etc.
  • SharePoint site administration – following department and bank standards, develop a site that is easy to use and find the information we need for rapid service.
Department level responsibilities:
    • Define and deliver automated solutions against core business objectives and department operating model.
    • Participate with the definition of RACI and SLA/SLE levels for ASM Team
    • Participates in operational issues, meetings and projects – to ensure knowledge of day-to-day tasks and issues faced by the team. This includes on-boarding efforts – to maintain awareness of tool and service enhancement needs.
    • Coordinate reporting and dashboard development – allowing self-service reporting to the internal customers served
    • Identify and remediate Risk in every on-board and service catalog adjustment.
    • Meets regularly with the teams supporting tools within the Bank – I.E. Monitoring tools teams, BI Tools, Support Tools (ServiceNow, HPSM, Button, etc.)
    • Provides technical oversight to infrastructure, application, and project teams to ensure services are implemented as designed or improved.
