Team Overview
The business development team have responsibility for managing JPMAM’s strategic relationships with those National Companies that operate a centralised Funds Paneling process. The aim of the team is to grow JPMAM’s market share with these leading Firms in the UK, by establishing strong strategic head office partnerships and maximizing JPM product on central buy lists. The team is responsible for presenting JPM’s insights and funds at National & Network events as well as generating leads and taking these leads through the sales cycle.
 
Role Overview
This individual has overall responsibility for presenting our views and insights at the National & Network Seminars as agreed in conjunction with the Head of Business Development. The role requires the individual to forge strong head office relationships with the leading National and Network Firms (N&Ns).  The role will support the Head Of Business Development to ensure that JPMAM has an integral fund presence on N&Ns central fund buy lists and secures partnership programmes that will facilitate access to regional sales distribution.  The individual may also have sole accountability for certain clients. He or she is required to work in close partnership with the respective Channel Head of JPMAM’s Funds field sales and marketing teams to deliver the agreed sales targets and ensure a coordinated head office/local branch sales relationship. This individual will also be responsible for developing strong internal relationships with Product Strategy and the Investment Desks and will also develop their own client list from leads identified at events.
 
Key Objectives of the Role
  • Create and deliver presentations to mid and large group audiences communicating the views of JPMAM in a compelling and creative way
  • Responsible for supporting the BDM in managing JPMAM’s Head Office and Fund panel relationships with the leading N&Ns.
  • Maximize sales opportunity by nurturing relationships with the agreed key N&Ns, ensuring JPM Funds are on fund Panel buy lists.
  • Adoption of disciplined sales management practices, including full utilization of sales management tools for effective tracking and communication of client activity and pipeline
  • Aim to maximize internal resource capability by establishing relationships with key internal partners including Product Strategy, Market Insights, Product Development, the Investment Desks and the Institutional Business.
  • Identify clients with potential at events and develop own sales pipeline
Qualifications
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to make complex messages simples and tailor approach to different audiences
  • Ability to play both advisory and sales role with some experience of managing centralized investment funds paneling processes preferable
  • Strong sales experience preferable
  • Strategic planning skills, with particular experience of managing key client sales partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and the ability to promote a strong control environment.
  • Good technical investment knowledge, (CFA qualification preferable but not a prerequisite.)
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
