About the team
The CIB Learning team is responsible for partnering and delivering the learning and development agenda of the Corporate and Investment Bank’s (CIB) functions in APAC.
About the role
The role is that of a Learning Partner for Treasury Services (TS), Global Trade Loan Product (GTLP) and the Global Corporate Banking (GCB) businesses across APAC. In addition, this role will also support ASEAN countries in the delivery of their country specific L&D agenda. He/she will be part of the CIB Front Office Learning Team and will report into the Learning Manager for CIB Front Office.
The incumbent will need to partner with business stakeholders and HR colleagues to diagnose, analyze and evaluate learning needs, and deploy or advise solutions, in line with global and regional business priorities; and in conjunction with overall priorities of the CIB Learning team.  He/ She would also be expected to facilitate programs and workshops (such as business off sites) as required, to support the regional training strategy.
A key requirement of the role is having strong consultative and advisory skill demonstrated by the ability to analyze and recommend interventions that is in line with organization culture, the strategic needs of the business and the individual/team requirement.
  • Determine learning and development priorities for client business in conjunction with senior business leaders, HR partners and global learning team.
  • Collaborate and partner with global colleagues in the regional deployment of global programs and initiative. Be able to provide a regional lens to global colleagues to ensure regional needs are well represented and understood in global forums.
  • Deliver the right L&D solutions to meet the business needs:
    • Partner to design and implement global and regional learning agendas while customizing for country specific needs.  Determine project parameters and ensure quality solutions.
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices and business/client direction to anticipate and accommodate shifts in business needs and priorities
    • Establish and maintain training vendor relationships and contracts.
    • Support talent management, performance development and management development initiatives.
    • Act as a change management consultant to business leaders to increase effectiveness of global and regional strategies.
  • Manage learning and development budgets and ensure good expense discipline.
  • Work with the team to identify synergies, partner and collaborate to deliver innovative, best in class learning solutions.
  • Work collaboratively and in partnership with the team in the region to execute a range of programs and projects specific to, but not necessarily limited to coverage areas.
  • Drive and promote a strong control environment by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures and processes
  • Maintain existing L&D specific risk and control procedures and ensure adherence to the same.


Experience & Attributes
  • Strong experience in learning and development partnering with the business to understand business needs and recommend appropriate solutions; experience in Wholesale Financial Services preferred.
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities and successful performance in a fast paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent consulting and influencing skills.
  • Strong executive presence - able to work with and present to senior leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Strong executive coaching skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Conduct a training needs analysis;
    • Build and design customized business solutions;
    • Bring teams and groups together in the business;
    • Manage external vendors & training budgets;
  • A self starter with a strong sense of urgency and action focused.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
