Business Overview & Role Description:
JPMorgan is one of the largest Global Custody and Clearing organisations in the world – with offices, operations and clients throughout the world.  This role is responsible for leading the delivery of positions and settlement related product enhancements and targeted tactical and strategic solutions to meet the extensive needs of the clients and prospects for the Global Custody business. Our aim is to position J.P. Morgan as ‘best in class’ with clients and prospects. The Product Development Team also maintains and expands subject matter expertise, providing thought leadership in the Global Custody product space. 
The Product Development Team is multi-locational (London, Bournemouth, New York, Hong Kong) and is organized into functional groups each with a distinct and vital role in managing and delivering change for clients and the Custody Product Roadmap:
  • Positions & Settlement        
  • Asset Servicing  
  • Foreign Exchange, Cash & Liquidity
  • Client Reporting
The Positions & Settlement Product Development Manager will have responsibility for the development and delivery of change related to the Positions & Settlement product in CFS (Custody and Funds Services) within Investor Services. The high level end to end responsibilities include developing the product based the strategy of the business and will involve understanding current and new regulatory, client and internal drivers. This role requires effective partnership across CFS including, Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance as well as cross functional Product teams.  An in-depth understanding of the positions & settlement product in relation to market practices and the ability to apply relevance to CFS with knowledge of the risk and operational processes is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
This position, within the Product Development team, will be located in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing product solutions, technology and/or client change aligned to the strategic roadmap for the Custody business.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Product subject matter expert for Positions & Settlement in the context of the delivery of Global Custody to an C&FS client
  • Delivering tactical and/or strategic Custody Positions & Settlement solutions through the full project life cycle
  • Drive the delivery of key Custody Positions & Settlement product initiatives: responsibilities range from concept, analysis, design, testing through to deployment
  • Drive impact assessments and business model transformation relating to cross functional change
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of existing product capabilities and influence the product design and solutions for new opportunities
  • Key input into the business benefits of any proposals to build out capabilities
  • Construct detailed current and end-state process maps/process flows as required
  • Create business requirements that sufficiently reflect the business ask to the technology development
  • Ensuring project implementation and closure disciplines are followed
  • Working with functional partners including: Middle Office, Client Services, Network Management, Risk, Compliance and other Operational areas to deliver agreed solutions
  • Planning and co-ordinating test phases as required, ensuring success criteria are clearly defined and clearly met at test conclusion
  • Timely escalation to Stream Leads and where applicable the Implementation Manager of project risks and issues
  • Working with Programme Manager, Team Lead and stakeholders to ensure effective resource allocation in line with programme priorities
Required skills and background
The successful candidate will have worked in a Global Custody securities environment and have the following skills:
  • Influencing and negotiation skills across a globally distributed model to support the product strategy
  • Team player with the ability to  lead and motivate people across the bank
  • Results orientated: Drive results through people, communication, influence management and interactions.
  • Strong Analytical/Quantitative skills, using programs such as Microsoft Office( particularly EXCEL and Powerpoint)
  • Communication: Confident communicator in all mediums across varied audiences combined with the ability to interact with senior executives
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Multi-tasker: Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize workloads, and manage multiple streams of work concurrently
  • Initiative: self motivated who is able to move initiatives forward in a cross-functional, multi-location model
  • Ability to maintain close working relationship with sales, Product Management, client service and product delivery managers to ensure customer satisfaction and product profitability
  • Ability to think outside of the box with the vision, energy and practical execution skills to help define the business strategy and deliver accordingly
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives/projects/work streams simultaneously
