The Global Real Estate (GRE) team consists of more than 400 employees, executing 13,000 capital projects per year globally totalling nearly $2 billion a year in design, construction and capital investment.
This role resides within the JPMorgan Chase Global Real Estate (GRE) Monitoring function, a specialized team that focuses on risk management and monitoring of GRE projects and operations.  GRE consists of more than 400 employees, executing 13,000 capital projects per year globally totaling nearly $2 billion a year in design, construction and capital investment.
Key Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and program management for the governance, administration and operations of the monitoring program for the new world headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, New York.
  • Manage the monitoring program for the new world headquarters project including supervising the internal resources from the GRE Monitoring team and third-party consultants engaged to monitor and verify compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements and firm policies and processes
  • Analyze project risks and proactively identify process gaps including the root-cause of issues with a view to providing process improvement recommendations
  • Identify emerging risk issues during the course of the project and provide value-add recommendations for process improvement and risk mitigation 
  • Create a reporting and tracking process to ensure that key risks and control gaps are properly identified, evaluated, reported and addressed
  • Plan, execute and document reviews and audits performed by internal resources and third-party consultants with limited supervision and to a high standard in accordance with firm and professional standards
  • Develop partnerships and positive working relationships with GRE leadership, GRE business partners, other firm partners (security/investigations, oversight & controls, compliance, sourcing, finance, legal and audit) and project teams to maintain an open environment for collaboration, risk identification and remediation
  • Direct contract administration and vendor management for a team of third party consultants engaged to provide risk management, project monitoring, forensic audit, investigations, due diligence and regulatory compliance services for the new world headquarters project
  • Actively participate in internal and external project governance meetings as representative of the monitoring team


Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience with prior experience in large construction projects as well as a project management, risk management, consulting, forensic audit, investigations, law enforcement, regulatory, legal, compliance and/or business process improvement background
  • MBA (or similar Masters) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvements related to construction project risk and compliance monitoring and testing processes based on current best practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
  • Strong control orientation, analytical, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate risks and requirements to all levels of project team and senior management
  • Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Financial services, real estate development, construction industry and/or consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of project schedule, budget and financial controls, construction regulatory compliance standards and construction industry best practices strongly preferred
