Job Description:
The Capacity Manager will manage the CCB Capacity Planning & Engineering (CPE) team within CCB IPM providing capacity analysis of critical applications under CCB‘s portfolio.  This position will be responsible for working with Sr. Management and the CPE team to provide new services and offerings that meets the demands of the organization.  The role is also responsible for leading implementation and reporting of the GT DRIVE capacity objectives and metrics.  The CPE Manager will be required to ensure that all capacity reporting is provided on-time and is consistent across the entire CCB portfolio.
  • Plans and oversees strategic and operational projects/services associated with the Capacity Planning & Engineering team.
  • Ensures that the CPE short-term and long-term goals align to CCB’s directives; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified operating policies, practices, and procedures related to the CCB Capacity practice.
  • Provides leadership to all CPE staff and is the primary point of contact relating to capacity planning for CCB.
  • Ensures the development of talent within the CPE team through training and stretch opportunities.
  • Recommends improvements to the CPE offering based on business needs and demand; drives improvements to a fully developed solution.
  • Lead and manage CCB’s GT Drive capacity metrics for critical applications and ensure all deliverables are accurate and provided on-time.
  • Support audit, regulatory and compliance deliverables; help drive specific action plans and deliverables within the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework
  • Provide accurate and timely delivery of status on capacity/scalability of CCB-managed CAF applications to Sr. Management. 
  • Partner with the Capacity Architect to develop the CPE Technology Roadmap detailing efficiencies and new offerings with timeframes.
  • Develop synergies between performance, monitoring, and integrated services within CCB to provide a mature capacity practice.
  • Able to approach oversight of development goals with modularity in mind to accommodate shifting priorities and the challenges associated with rapid prototyping and Agile methodologies.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of work experience in capacity management, application performance management, performance testing, solution engineering or other related field
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and influencing skills. The candidate enjoys interacting with all levels in the organization
  • Expert communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex issues
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage a diverse team of technical engineers, infrastructure associates, and developers
  • Knowledge of various server hardware configurations and performance characteristics
  • Database and data warehouse knowledge and capacity drivers
  • SAN storage knowledge and capacity drivers
  • Extensive knowledge of using Microsoft Office products (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
  • Understanding of various IBM/AIX and VMware virtualization technologies
  • Broad knowledge of advanced environment monitoring & management tools, performance modeling tools, capacity analysis tools, and other advanced modeling and trending tools
  • Experience working on Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with new and emerging technologies such as cloud and virtualization
