Credit Risk is an integral part of a broader investment banking platform that enables J.P. Morgan to deliver the most complete and innovative financial solutions in the industry. Credit Risk works closely with businesses and functions across the Corporate and Investment Bank including Derivatives, Treasury Services, Client Coverage teams, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A.
 
Core Credit Risk comprises of Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Corporates, Emerging Markets:
  • FIG covers the full range of financial institutions, including banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, clearinghouses, mutual funds, insurers, sovereigns and SPVs.
  • Corporates cover industries, such as Retail, Transportation, Natural Resources, Telecoms, Media and Technology, amongst others.
  • Emerging Markets cover both FIG and Corporates in developing markets.
Key responsibilities 
  • Work on the analysis, structuring and execution of transactions
  • Completing credit analysis, Risk Review, stress tests and ad-hoc projects
  • Monitoring the bank's existing credit exposure to clients
  • Review financing and trading proposals, and make recommendations to senior Credit Officers.
  • Assist in coordinating team activities by participating in client due diligence, transaction structuring/execution and negotiation of documentation
  • Working alongside senior Credit Risk Officers to understand complex transactions
Key requirements
  • Genuine interest in the financial markets
  • Proven academic performance and an ability to demonstrate solid numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience working within a financial services organisation
  • Exposure to risk and financial regulation
  • As business is primarily conducted in English, verbal and written fluency in English is essential. However, as we are a global business and operate extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, fluency in other languages is extremely beneficial.

  • Capability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Eligibility

  • You must have an expected degree minimum of a 2:1 or European equivalent (second-year results should clearly demonstrate that this is a realistic indication).
