Investment Grade Finance is responsible for originating fixed income securities as part of the capital raising activities undertaken by our clients (both corporate and financial institutions). J.P. Morgan is the leader in investment grade bond issuance and loan origination, leading offerings for clients across industries and geographies. Industry specialization enables us to service issuer’s specific needs. We address both broad corporate finance topics as well as detailed execution advice for our clients. We have dedicated origination teams for hybrid securities and debt Private Placements. In addition, our Liability Management team aligns with the bond originators to provide integrated solutions to our clients.
We are looking for a Managing Director (MD) to join the Investment Grade Finance Team (“IGF”), focusing on structured, bespoke capital markets transactions for regulated and non-regulated financial and corporate issuers. The candidate will also work with our Structured Products Group (“SPG”), exploring and executing asset risk-transfer and capital solutions for clients. The role will sit within the firm’s Investment Grade Finance Team, but will have dual reporting lines to the IGF and SPG management teams. The successful candidate will play a vital and accountable leadership role in all aspects of formation/pursuit of strategic business ideas and the transaction process. S/he will join a dynamic team with that is far reaching and forward moving.
The MD will be recognized by clients as key member of the team. We anticipate the MD will support existing client coverage professionals and provide market-leading liability and asset solutions, both in marketing the firm’s capabilities in this area and leading the execution of mandated structured transactions. S/He will leverage and coordinate J.P. Morgan's resources on behalf of the client in two key areas of the Corporate Investment Bank, the Investment Grade Financing Platform and the Structured Products Group. In this capacity, one must understand client regulatory and tax constraints, industry fundamentals, anticipate client needs, and leverage J.P. Morgan's and the team's resources to anticipate new business opportunities. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

The ideal candidate is a creative, innovative team player. It is critical that the MD be able to relate well to client counterparts and develop good working relationships with these individuals. It is also important that this person display maturity, good judgment and an ability to work with professionals at all levels inside J.P. Morgan. Strong analytical, technical problem solving, planning and organizational skills are a must. These abilities are necessary on an individual level and as this person direct other project members.
It is expected that the MD demonstrate leadership qualities that are team-oriented, fostering and collegial. The ability to delegate effectively and pay attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity will be important.
The individual must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in presentations; expressing complex financial strategies in an organized and articulate manner.
