We are looking for an Application Support Analyst  with strong Unix and database skills to join the Chief Investment Office & Treasury (CIO & Treasury) Operate Team.  This team supports a suite of applications which involves monitoring of various regional intraday and overnight/EOD batches running on Linux and Windows environments.  The role is to ensure uninterrupted delivery of these systems to the business and to facilitate changes to these systems to enable the business to grow. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Linux/Sybase/Oracle/Windows environment, and should be able to investigate job failures by analyzing event logs and log files, check job dependencies, query databases, restart batch streams, be comfortable with Unix/Linux text editors and propose changes to make the batch streams more efficient.   Familiarity with automated scheduling tools such as Autosys , and understanding of scheduling concepts is a must.  The individual must be proficient in shell and/or Perl/Python.  Exposure to any of these other areas would be considered a plus:  C/C++, Java/J2EE, VB/.Net. 
 
The individual must have excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills, as he/she would be required to interact with a global team, should be able to clearly explain technical issues, and contribute to global operate knowledge base by documenting procedures and common errors.  Once training is completed, candidate should be able to carry on work independently with minimal supervision.
 
The role includes:
  • BAU Support – provide coverage during daily production runs; interact with users and feed suppliers/recipients; perform analysis of user related queries; contribute to global operate knowledge base.  Candidate will be required to participate in early/late shift rotations, as well as a weekend and holiday rotation schedules
  • Release Management – deploy software changes to production environment, following, enforcing, and suggesting controls to keep the production and UAT  environments controlled 
 
  • BA/BS or equivalent with 3 year experience in Technical support
  • Understanding of Financial and Banking applications or related business experience
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.  Would be required to interact with global team, should be able to clearly explain technical issues, and contribute to global operate knowledge base by documenting procedures and common errors
  • Strong and demonstrable problem solving / analytical skills
  • Adaptable to necessary changes in work requirements, roles and responsibilities
  • UNIX/Linux file management and shell scripting, bash /C shell, an and/or Perl/Python
  • Expertise with Autosys scheduling tool and JIL scripting
  • Sybase required, and Oracle and SQL Server very nice to have
