Department Overview:


The Corporate Technology Application Support Monitoring team provides support of hundreds of applications across the CT Portfolio in a 24x7 environment. We focus on consistent methods and technologies to manage the health, performance, and support costs, while reducing risk while delivering high value across the Corporate Technology portfolio. We strive to deliver value to our business partners through service excellence, innovation and efficiency gains. 


Responsibilities:

  • As part of the ASM Team, deliver against core business objectives and the target operating models.
  • Reporting directly to the regional ASM Manager, provide day-to-day application support within the assigned environments to a standard that meets or exceeds Operational Norms and Service Level Agreements.
  • Assist with the on-boarding and transition of production application support tasks into the ASM Team, allowing increased service optimization and economies of scale through our use of standardized tools and efficient standardized practices.
  • Continually analyze service metrics to identify production resiliency improvement opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to technology stakeholders to discuss, agree and implement solutions.
  • The global team will provide 24x7 on-site support 365 days per year.
  • Fully participate in the creation and staffing of the support rotation to ensure adequate business support coverage 24x7x365.


Non Standard work hours included in this role:

  • 4 x 10 hour work days
  • 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Eastern Daylight Savings time.
  • Must work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as a standard schedule.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a technology major or some level of education with relevant equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Application Support experience - preferably within JPMC or other large institution.
  • Server Administrative support skills and experience – Microsoft and or Linux/Unix skills for server support.
  • Enterprise Monitoring and Alerting Tools knowledge/experience - e.g. APICA, App Dynamics, Geneos, Nagios, Foglight, etc. or equivalents.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a complex production environment and quickly acquire broad knowledge of CT tools, platforms and working practices.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and decipher instructions – via documentation/Knowledge Articles – to support a diverse application/technical environment.
  • Solid investigation and analysis skills in order to recommend value-add solutions in problem focus areas.
Preferred Skills:
  • Enterprise Job Scheduling Tools, e.g. Control-M, AutoSys, or equivalents.
  • Database skills, including fundamental understanding of SQL and Stored Procedures.
  • Web services skills including IIS, Apache/Tomcat.
  • Experience with workflow and automation tools.
  • Shell Scripting skills.
  • Self-starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured environment.
  • Linux/Unix skills (Shell Scripting preferred but not essential).
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Online collaboration experience – I.E. SharePoint skills.
