As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development such as Agile frameworks is beneficial. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

Development is done in Python, working with cutting-edge technologies such as object-oriented databases, big data and grid computing. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
•Hands-on expertise in application engineering and development using technologies like:
–Proficiency in one or more object oriented and/or functional programming languages like Python or Java.
–Knowledge of Big Data (Apache Spark, HDFS, Impala, HBase, Kafka, etc.).
•Work in close collaboration with the multiple teams – QR, Application users, Athena Core, infrastructure, and development teams.
•Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
•Take responsibility for your code throughout the entire development cycle.
•Improve code quality iteratively through increased test coverage and extensive code review
•Strong knowledge of business processes/methodologies (we follow Agile).
•Ability to work collaboratively with business partners and geographically diverse teams to achieve common goals.
•Financial knowledge on any domain is an plus (but not mandatory).
Model Performance is a space that consists of multiple applications that provide an ecosystem for model performance management. This includes Backtesting – Determines the quality of model and capital multiplier, PnL Attribution, FRTB implementation (SBA and IMA) and Reporting.
