Wealth Management Operations supports the JPMorgan Private Bank in JP Morgan’s Asset & Wealth Management line of business. The Private Bank is the world’s premier service provider for ultra and high net worth individuals.  Our goal is to help these affluent individuals across the globe optimize their wealth, after taxes and across generations. Wealth Management Operations provides end-to-end support for all aspects of the client experience, working closely with client service, fiduciary, product specialty groups, third party vendors and other internal groups.

 

Position Summary

Private Bank Mortgage Operations is seeking a senior manager that will be responsible for the Governance organization supporting WM Mortgage Operations with direct oversight of the following departments in multiple geographic locations:  Vendor Management, Training, Policy and Process Solutions, Audit and Review, Operational Risk, Procedures and Communications and Quality Control.  Direct Responsibilities include acting as the Control Officer for Mortgage Operations while having oversight of all processes & procedures, ensuring adherence to Corporate & AWM level policies along with all state & federal regulations.  This role requires the ability to deal with complex business challenges, tight deadlines, competing priorities and interaction with the senior management team. The individual must have a proven track record of managing multiple streams of work and provide leadership and oversight to large, complex and cross impacting technology programs concurrently.

Responsibilities        

  • Centralize and facilitate Governance functions for Wealth Management Mortgage Operations
  • Plan and direct the development, implementation and administration of Operational Risk & Control, Audit Support Team, Vendor Management, Training/Change Management, Policy & Process Solutions and Quality Control
  • Responsible for providing the strategic planning, execution, management and oversight of functions for all Mortgage Operations locations onshore and offshore
  • Ability to effectively staff and supervise direct reports to manage their teams to capably handle and execute program requirements across the line of business
  • Ensure alignment with corporate level Program Office requirements and tools
  • Effectively partner with Mortgage Operations Production, additional internal support functions (Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance) Internal Private Bank Technology, Mortgage Advisory, and all external vendors
  • Identify the connections and dependencies among complex projects and programs to ensure all cross impacts have been identified and actively managed

·         Ensure alignment with Governance Team and corporate level Program Office requirements and tools

  • Create, maintain and deliver effective communication with stakeholders and business partners with the purpose of informing interested parties on all key milestones, accomplishments, programs, activities and overall successes
  • Manages performance, aggressively developing skills, capabilities and successors.  Provides real-time feedback to the team and fulfills performance management commitments

Qualifications

·         10+ years of Mortgage Operations management experience required

·         Strong knowledge and experience with underwriting and loan fulfillment standards and guidelines

  • Experience with Program Management/Project Management with extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management
  • Experience driving strategic and tactical plans, including automation and process reengineering initiatives, with an ability to anticipate and overcome barriers. Takes the business to the next level.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with technology and systems and capable of applying knowledge to operations and understanding the overall infrastructure and business implications
  • Continuous improvement and change management mindset, questioning conventional ways of managing the business and driving change to improve the business through technology solutions
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peers
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Resource and talent management, aligning the right resources to initiatives and allocating work efficiently.   Acquires and develops talent for the organization and enables others on team to develop strong relationships and follow best practices.
  • Builds a sense of community, creating a positive team environment and modeling a global, diverse mindset and inclusive behavior
  • Willingness to make decisions, while ensuring buy in from stakeholders. Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operations perspective

·         Experience in Software Development Life Cycle Methodologies(SDLC), Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall a plus

·         Project management certification a plus

·         Bachelor’s Degree required (business focus preferred); MBA preferred
