CIB Technology provides best-in-class software development services to deliver, maintain and support strategic and secure technology platforms and solutions for CIB’s shared services and global businesses, encompassing Banking, Equities, Fixed Income, Investor Services & Treasury Services.
 
Opportunity
The role sits within the finance and business management (F&BM) team supporting Banking Technology and is an opportunity is to specifically focus on infrastructure.  The role will be based in Bournemouth. 
 
Key responsibilities: 
 
Forecasting/Planning
  • Manage the infrastructure forecasting process to deliver a credible and executable investment and productivity plan
  • Manage monthly review meetings, highlighting forecasting anomalies
  • Ensure that all forecasting actions are understood within the CTO-1 groups and where compensating actions are required these are properly accounted for in the direct forecast
  • Influence infrastructure managers and champions to deliver an credible annual plan. 
Productivity Opportunities
  • Ensure potential opportunities for productivity in both the infrastructure and end user technology space are followed through
  • Review of horizontal program productivity 
Reporting
  • Act as the infrastructure SME for the wider Banking F&BM team
  • Manage the reporting of all infrastructure and other indirect allocations to technology leadership team
  • Attend monthly infrastructure and indirect expense review meetings 
Management of the monthly bill
  • Production of the monthly bill, review and distribution to application owners, infrastructure managers and champions
  • Ensure the monthly bill reflects expected movements for productivity and investment
  • Identify and challenge unexpected movements on the monthly bill
  • Provide monthly variance commentary for inclusion within senior management reports
  • Build a strong working relationship with the infrastructure management team responsible for the implementation and architecture of the Infrastructure
 
 
Requirements -
 
The role requires the candidate to have experience in a technology finance role.
 
Essential skills
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally coupled with infrastructure, business management and financial experience in financial services
  • Ideal experience/background in technology, finance and operations
  • Must be a confident leader -- possessing a strength of personality and intellect to gain the respect of demanding business heads and senior managers
  • Must have a collaborative and participative management style. Professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound decision-making skills allied with the ability to interact at senior executive level are essential
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task and drive the agenda under pressure
  • Program and/or Project Management experience
