JP Morgan is looking for a Tax Manager (Associate) based in Mexico City. This position is responsible for supervising tax compliance activities and also developing a technical tax research. This position reports to a VP Tax in Mexico.

Primary duties include
  • Deliver a full range of tax compliance activities in accordance with laws and regulations within timeframe
  • Manage tax provision and tax compliance process on a daily basis
  • Improve tax processes by developing or implementing best practices
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits and controversy matters
  • Prepare and or supervise all tax papers in a regular basis and handle all information data requests
  • Assist with evaluating the tax effect and implications in Mexico of domestic transactions, and business proposals to advise management on the local tax implications
  • Providing support to the global accounting team responsible for accounting for corporate and intercompany transactions
  • Review and research tax questions for tax accounting and tax compliance purposes
  • Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors for tax compliance activities
  • Developing, implementing and documenting tax compliance process improvements, such as e-invoice, electronic accounting
  • Work with tax technology and IT teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation
  • Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and also assisting on transfer pricing activities and/or processes
  • Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
  • Proven work experience as a tax manager
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
  • 5+ years of tax experience with exposure to tax compliance and tax accounting activities in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or Multinational Corporation
  • Bachelors accounting degree
  • Strong skills and experience with computer software and ERP
  • 5+ years managing and developing a team
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
  • Strong analytical skills with detail orientation
  • Fluent Spanish and English skills
  • Experience on financial sector would be a plus
