The Role:
Chase Pay is a key growth opportunity for JPMorgan Chase.  It is a digital wallet that provides simple, rewarding and secure buying experiences for more than 60 million Chase card customers.  Chase Pay selling and marketing efforts will be focused on most frequently shopped merchant categories; in particular, Fuel/Convenience, Grocery, Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR), Specialty Retail, and Travel & Entertainment.
 
Chase Pay launched in Q4 2016 and will follow a continuous and targeted roll-out across merchants in the five prioritized categories.  As such, targeted marketing to the customer in the merchant environment (referred to as shopper marketing) will play a critical role in driving awareness, trial, and habitual usage of Chase Pay at merchant partners.  It will precede and complement Chase Pay national advertising efforts.  This is a new capability within JP Morgan Chase so we are retaining a shopper marketing agency to assist in our strategic and execution efforts.
 
The Associate Merchant Marketing Manager will report to the Shopper Marketing Manager and will work closely with the Merchant Relationship Managers.   This individual will have responsibility for execution of Merchant specific creative deployed across all channels – Chase-owned, merchant-owned, and paid – working collaboratively with merchant relationship managers, agency teams, and internal process owners and approvers.  In addition, this role is responsible for execution of any non-Chase Pay initiatives, which may result as an extension of our Chase Pay merchant relationships.
 
The Associate Marketing Manager is expected to work collaboratively and effectively cross-functionally, and especially with the Chase Pay Merchant Relationship and Consumer Marketing teams, to deliver effective marketing plans to drive usage and experience among our mutual customers.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Shopper Marketing Team, Chase Pay Merchant Relationship Managers and Chase Pay Marketing Team to coordinate messaging and usage of Chase owned assets as a key component of the joint marketing plan with our merchant partners
  • Work with Marketing Services, Legal and Compliance, and Chase Pay Merchant RM’s on creative approval and execution consistent with JPMC controls process
  • Work with Associate Shopper Marketing Manager to coordinate and align messaging, creative look and feel across creative assets for both paid media and Chase channels
  • Ensure adherence to relevant control processes such as Marketing Claims, Rewards Governance, RCR, M&P, etc. 
  • Coordinate and maintain audit evidence of approvals from all stakeholders such as Chase Legal & Compliance, Merchants and Merchant Partners (where applicable)
  • Maintain and develop database of Chase assets deployed by merchant and value to ensure adherence to contractual obligations
Qualifications:
  • 4+  years in Chase marketing execution and/or Marketing Services role
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across JPMC organization and processes
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of campaign management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
