The JP Morgan Prime Services and Equity Finance technology group is looking to hire a highly motivated, skilled and collaborative full stack Java Developer to play a key part in the expansion of their successful Portfolio Swap system.  The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, implementation and support of a wide range of ongoing and new projects on the platform.  A key part of the Portfolio Swaps function is an ability to work closely with other teams in partnership that will be critical to the success of this role.

Candidates should possess strong Object Oriented Design/Programming skills as well as being knowledgeable about design patterns. They should possess strong Java, Spring, Oracle,  XML, UNIX Shell Scripting, and TDD. A good knowledge of GIT, Agile methodologies will be advantageous.
 
The candidate should have a positive can-do attitude and have an ability to work well across a broader global team. The expectation from the candidate is to provide guidance to junior members in the team, take on technical lead responsibilities, and also be able to take hand-on tasks to set examples for rest of the team. The successful candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills as they will be required to work with people across multiple global offices. An ability to work with tight deadlines is required for success in this role. Knowledge of Prime Brokerage and Stock Lending is highly desirable although not essential.
You will be required to work directly with business partners in the Prime and Equities organization including Product Development, Front Office, Middle Office Operations, Finance, Legal and other JPMorgan functional areas to deliver competitive, efficient, and scalable product solutions.

Key Deliverables:
•    Full System Development Lifecycle using Agile.
•    Design and development of new components for Global Portfolio Swap application.
•    Enhancement and maintenance of existing applications, especially to handle anticipated significant volume increase.
•    Support of new and existing applications.
•    Supervision and mentoring for team members to ensure delivery.
•    Responsible and accountable for projects, including representing the team in front of stakeholders and senior management.
•    Candidates should note that this list is not exhaustive and duties are liable to change from time to time in line with the needs of the department.
The candidate should possess the following attributes:
•Must be result oriented and self-starter.
•8-10 years of experience working in financial markets with knowledge in some or all Prime Brokerage supported products especially Equity Swaps or other Equity Derivatives.
•Computer Science or equivalent degree.
•Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills.
•Object oriented design and programming as well as being familiar with design patterns with a prerequisite.
•Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures (GitHub, SVN).
•Exposure to Agile Development is a plus.
•Demonstrates good understanding of full software life cycle development process and successful IT project delivery.
•Experience leading a small team of developers is a plus.
•Front Office / Middle Office exposure is highly desirable.
•Strong Oral/Written communication skills. Should have the ability to interact with business users to solve problems.
•It is expected that the successful candidate will have worked on at least one major technically challenging global project.
•Experience working in financial markets with knowledge of equity swaps / synthetic prime brokerage will be advantageous.
The following technical skills are mandatory:
•Strong Core Java skills.
•Strong knowledge of J2EE and Open Source technologies (Spring).
•Proficient at *nix scripting languages.
•Good knowledge of Oracle and ANSI SQL , SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
•Knowledge of Cloud Computing frameworks a plus.
