As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
This role is for a Software/Applications Developer to join the team supporting the Rates trading desks in London.
The candidate will need to work closely with the business and technology stakeholders to complete and own tasks from inception through to delivery, as well as oversee and coordinate the product and project delivery as an individual developer and as part of his/her wider team. Tasks will include building out new functionality and extending existing features as well as providing support to users, from both front office (Trading, Structuring, Sales) and middle office (Trade Support, Finance). This will also involve participation in a production support rota to cover key business processes.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
Degree: Bachelors in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Good understanding or interest of risk management measures and process for interest rate derivatives.
Experience of working in a large global development team, using agile techniques and Object Oriented development and scripting languages, is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate accurately, concisely and effectively in a global organization
Confident nature, willingness & capability to work on trading floor type of seating layout
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with demanding sponsors and stakeholders
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure within agreed timelines and multi-task
Self-starter with proven ability to produce end results with minimal assistance
