This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices and JPMC policies
  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms 
  • The Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Technology Data Center team is responsible for executing the firms DC strategy for CIB.  The Data Center team resides in the CIB Infrastructure services group under CIB Tech Production Management. 
  • The CIB Tech Data Center works closely with Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) and business aligned application teams. We manage the end to end application migrations from legacy data centers and legacy infrastructure platforms to strategic target states.  CIB Tech follows a proven methodology for managing the application migration from analysis to migration and subsequent decommission of existing infrastructure.
  • Keys to the success of the Data Center program is strong management of dependencies, documentation of requirements to support the technology roadmap, governance, adherence to internal CIB controls, and acting as a Facilitator between AD and GTI
 As the NA Project Manager Execution Lead your responsibilities include:
  • End-to-end management of in-scope applications through all phases of the migration process.
  • Provide directional guidance and provide escalation support to a matrix team of project managers
  • Working closely with Global team located in EMEA, NAMR, and APAC  
  • Working closely with the Global Business Aligned Production Management, Application Development, and GTI you will ensure migration plans are managed appropriately and executed in accordance with the documented plan. 
  • APPLICATION MIGRATION MANAGEMENT – end-to-end management of applications throughout the data centre exit.  
  • STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE – management of key stakeholder communications with impacted LoB’s  
  • MIGRATION SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT – ensure application migration plans are governed in a manner that ensures timelines and throughput can be met by the impacted LoB’s.  
  • RISK AND ISSUE MANAGEMENT – management and escalation of risks and issues specific to the application that is undergoing migration. Escalation of risks and issues at program level if it is likely impact is not localized to the application 
  • MIGRATION PHASE MANAGEMENT – lifecycle management of the applications through the migration process as per the following:
    • Analysis– analysis of in-scope infrastructure. Mapping of infrastructure to services and related environments. Prioritization and migration sequencing
    • Design – Support capture of future architecture requirements. Support detailed architecture reviews. Provide real-time capacity requirements from architecture reviews
    • Provisioning – manage prioritization and support order processes. Prioritize and sequence order fulfilment with GTI including validation steps with business where necessary
    • Configuration– work with AD teams to ensure configuration of applications on provisioned environments runs to plan. Escalate issues, dependencies and resources needed to complete tasks
    • Testing - work with AD teams to ensure applications are tested in accordance with the firm’s controls on configured environments. Escalate issues, dependencies and resources needed to complete tasks 
    • Migration Execution – support pre-migration activities including tasks and resources required to execute migration. Management of go/no-go gates for cut-over. Risk and issue management during migration execution preparation. Post implementation reviews to capture lessons learned
    • Decommission – Confirm last app standing has migrated. Confirm environment ready for physical decom. Manage infrastructure through JPMC decommission process
  • DEPENDENCY MANAGEMENT – management of key dependencies identified during analysis and design phase which are key for completion of application migration
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of distributed infrastructure and core datacenter infrastructure principles
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge with physical to virtual migration programs
  • Experience with Data Centre Migration projects or other significant infrastructure programs
  • Prefer experience with container solutions such as Docker
  • Practical experience managing staff in a matrix organization
  • Proven ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects in parallel
  • Must be comfortable communicating clearly and concisely with senior level stakeholders
  • Banking or Financial markets background a plus, but not essential
