The Data Network Architecture team has a firm wide remit to deliver a broad set of data management capabilities including the overall functional and technical vision for data governance.
The DNA central testing team is responsible for ensuring that DNA solutions developed for release meet the requested needs of the critical business initiatives we support. This will be done through the establishment of a vigorous process to capture test cases, validate technical solutions through a QA process as well as thorough user acceptance testing and post rollout validation – all while following an agile/scrum based SDLC. Along with conducting and monitoring test results, communication and partnerships with the DNA product owners, technical teams along with DNA stakeholder user groups will be critical for ensuring minimum quality standards for developed solutions.
Role Responsibilities:   
Capture of requirements, acceptance criteria & test cases
  • Participate as required in scrums, sprint planning/review session while advocating test team needs and priorities
  • Partner with product owners and UI/API technical teams to identify , interpret and document acceptance criteria to ensure DNA business requirement needs are met
  • Ensure automated regression test cases are documented and captured accurately to meet acceptance criteria and testability factors for DNA technical requirements

Testing artefact maintenance

  • As needed, create and capture testing artefacts (test plans, test scripts, results tracking matrix, UAT signoff, etc.) to ensure systemic approach to quality of releases
  • Support design, development and maintenance of test result reporting/tracking mechanism

QA functional testing

  • Conduct QA functional tests beyond auto regression – either UI or API/data based - to confirm developed solutions meet functional needs requested
  • Capture enhancements and defects from QA tests in JIRA backlog
User Acceptance Testing/ Production launch validation    
  • Engage and communicate clearly with product owners, technical team, and end user groups to ensure User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is conducted in a timely fashion
  • Develop test scripts, confirm user entitlement needs, schedule script walkthrough, confirm end user tester availability and test dates and set testing result expectations to ensure a smooth testing experience and achieve maximum results
  • Monitor and track UAT test results via JIRA backlog.
  • Validate release in production post rollout (“smoke” test)


  • Degree in computer science (or similarly technical discipline).
  • Good interpersonal skills to be able to work in a collaborative environment on a global team.
  • Proven experience working in sprints within an Agile/scrum technical environment.
  • Backlog management experience – JIRA preferred
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proactive in identifying issues, recommending solutions and escalating when appropriate.
  • Familiar with QA and UAT testing frameworks including writing/monitoring test scripts/results and organizing UAT sessions.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Fitnesse and Cucumber including related languages/script formats is a plus.
  • Technical background with understanding of databases (RDBMS and graph databases), data models as well as UI development and data discovery is a plus.
