Global Trade provides its clients with Financing, risk mitigation and processing of cross border import and export activity through a multiple of products and solutions.  Operating in 39 locations across 28 countries we offer Documentary and Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections, Supply Chain Finance, Documentation Prep Service  and Loan products.  We have established a distributed operating model with regional hubs, global processing centers and a network of branches. Trade Finance is a credit based product which is highly complex and requires a significant amount of expertise. Whether we are providing a small value rental guarantee or $100mm financing transaction, our focus is on providing a first class service to our clients.

 

Position Summary

Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience in supporting Trade related products. This role Is situated on the Document Checking team, therefore extensive experience and knowledge of Commercial Letters of Credit is essential. This role is within  a deadline driven environment

 

Key responsibilities

  • Check shipping documents against the terms of complex Commercial Letters of Credit
  • Provide 2nd Check's within limits and release documents out for payment
  • Liaise directly with clients on disputed discrepancies explaining the reason for raising
  • Ensure a smooth workflow, review difficult cases, and expedite urgent transactions
  • Monitor quantity and quality of work to meet established objectives
  • Review and recommend new methods and procedures for process improvement and efficiency
  • Research and resolve operational issues
  • Drive the Operations team forward achieving client satisfaction at all times, whilst maintaining a controlled environment.
  • Ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with documented SOPs and
  • comply with internal operating standards, with Customer Service Levels and with Industry Rules and Standards and Compliance
  • Ensure that all relevant Audit, Risk, Regulatory and ISO requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain a client focused approach, engage team members in best practices, exercising sound judgment, based upon knowledge and experience, at all times.
  • To provide guidance to all staff on complex transactions, especially where new business is being introduced.

 

 

Essential
  • Extensive experience in Document Examination
  • Strong working knowledge of the guidelines for processing Trade Finance products
  • Computer navigation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Ability to analyse  complex procedures and established processes for process improvement
  • Ability to make independent decisions and utilize all available tools to minimize corporate and client risk
  • Self-motivated confident decision-maker with the ability to demonstrate leadership and establish credibility at a senior level.  Able to appropriately challenge and influence change.
  • Strong Trade product knowledge with the ability to analyse, assess and determine key issues within the context of complex business products. Able to identify issues at varying levels from training issues to specific control failures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Able to effectively prioritise against a complex set of business demands and demonstrate delivery against multiple objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, URDG, Boycott regulations, and OFAC compliant requirements

Desirable

  • CDCS & CITF certification
