JPMorgan Private Bank is currently seeking applications for a Trust Officer.With assets under management of $1.5 trillion, JPMorgan’s Asset Management group (AM) is one of the largest asset/wealth managers in the world.  Its investment management products and services cater to institutional and individual investors worldwide.  Investment strategies offered include equity, fixed income, cash management, foreign exchange, hedge funds, private equity, and real property. AM serves institutional and high net worth clients through its Global Investment Management, Private Bank, and JPMorgan Securities business units.
 
Our Business
International Fiduciary Services (IFS) is a core business of the Private Bank, offering discretionary and directed trust products to meet the long-term estate planning needs of our wealthiest clients domiciled in Asia, Latin America and EMEA.  JPMorgan Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited is the primary legal entity for IFS and most administration activity is performed in our Nassau office.
 
The Role
The successful candidate will work with Trust and related partners to ensure that fiduciary services are delivered in a manner consistent with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements. The candidate will serve as a technical resource and should have the ability to work independently with wealth advisors, investors and bankers, and will be expected to develop direct relationships with clients.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • As part of our team of specialists, the Trust Officer provides expert structuring and administration of trusts to our most complex clients
  • Work with clients and clients’ attorneys and other professional advisors to structure and price new trustiness
  • Develop, retain and deepen trust account relationships
  • Manage complex trust book with attention to risk management issues, including: discretionary actions; on-going estate planning;  communication with , beneficiaries, and professional advisors; coordination of investment dialogue as appropriate
  • Responsible for deepening and strengthening client relationships with JPMorgan
  • Support coordination of sales effort with Bankers, Investors, Capital Advisors and Wealth Advisors
  • Communicate with clients to understand their trust needs and provide superior client service
  • Maintain flexibility to travel
  • Provide guidance to trust analysts
  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ fiduciary experience, including extensive client interaction, in an international environment
  • In depth knowledge of trust law and legal/regulatory requirements affecting international fiduciary locations
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; LLB preferred
  • TEP designation
  • The ability to evaluate and propose effective structuring solutions
  • The ability to access Fiduciary risk to make appropriate business decisions
  • Experience with cross-border tax and planning issues
  • Knowledge of investment and credit products and services
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications; adaptive to new systems and technologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision
  • Fluency in Spanish an asset
