HRSD Payroll Lead

The Argentina payroll lead should ensure the delivery of the payroll for Argentina legal entities, meeting regulatory requirements, which should be aligned and consistent with global standards.  This role reports to the Head of Argentina HRSD.

Key Responsibility include: 
Operational and Risk Management
  • Delivery of payroll,  HR accounting,  data management,  risk, resiliency, Third Party Oversight (TPO), Control Self Assessments, audit and MIS;  ensure timely, efficient and accurate delivery in compliance with firm standards and local regulations
  • Ensure comprehensive ongoing cross training for all payroll team members is achieved and ensure that all roles have appropriate back-up cover
  • Ensure that all operational processes are correctly documented (Standard Operating Procedures) and have built in risk and control assessments to review their effectiveness.
  • Identify, develop and maintain  the controls required in the payroll process;  perform checks to validate effectiveness of the controls; implement action plans for control gaps in accordance with the firm’s Risk and Control Self Assessment process.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, lead initiatives and transition projects, regulatory requirements and changes into the daily operations.
  • Act as the payroll  Matter Expert
  • Develop and utilize meaningful metrics to run the operation

 

Leadership and Partnership
  • Management of the payroll team ensuring that objectives are clearly defined, open and honest feedback is provided, assistance is provided to navigate careers and high standards are demonstrated and enforced.
  • Manage and maintain a first class team, committed to high quality service delivery and instill a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on risk control
  • Work with the head of Argentina HRSD to define the optimal operating model for HRSD aligning the global and regional priorities with local country objectives and priorities
  • Establish and maintain strong partnership with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Finance, Oversight and Control, and other key partners to resolve issues, implement changes, and provide operational excellence
 
Qualifications
  • + 6 years of experience in  Payroll of +1000 employees
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong understanding of employment law, regulations and reporting requirements
  • Experienced in payroll on a in house model.
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Proven process improvement experience with ability to innovate
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to lead others in an operational environment
  • Ability to quickly identify priorities, effectively manage fluctuating volumes, identify  and mitigate operational risk through effective controls
  • Interpersonal, relationship and consensus building skills
  • Self-managing, highly proactive, risk control and results orientated
  • Fluent in English
  • Certified Public Accountant or Bachelor degree in Business Administration (with accounting background) from leading academic institution. Postgraduate level qualification is a plus
