Corporate Technology - Software Engineer – Associate

Risk & Forecasting Solutions:
Risk & Forecasting Solutions is responsible for the technology platform and integration with J.P. Morgan's risk systems to provide risk managers with capability to assess impact of various market scenarios at a firm wide level. The team has a large book of work comprising of many strategic and tactical projects to enhance the system capabilities and continue with integration efforts with the firm's risk systems along with the reduction of offline manual processes.
  • Strong Python Developer
  • Design and implement python based enterprise solutions to meet the business requirements using next generation Athena platform (internal platform)
  • Work in a hands-on capacity on the integration and configuration of implementations
  • Participation in testing (functional and performance)
  • Work in close collaboration with the multiple teams - Application users, Athena Core, infrastructure, and development teams.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Contribute your ideas to application features, design and development.
  • Take responsibility for your code throughout the entire development cycle.
  • Improve code quality iteratively through increased test coverage and extensive code review
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, maths, physics or similar
  • Expert knowledge of programming concepts and object-oriented programming.
  • Possess Total 6 to 10 years of experience and a minimum 2-years of Python programming and software-design experience.
  • Have experience building distributed service-oriented architectures
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize Scrum, continuous integration, and TDD in order to build scalable, reusable, well-tested, and maintainable software
  • Are a team player with the ability to learn quickly, work independently, and maintain a good sense of perfection vs. pragmatism
  • Self-starting and can work autonomously in a larger team
  • Committed to following best practices
  • Keenly interested in developing technologies
  • Enthusiastic about testing
  • Able to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities as priorities change
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
