Description
The Forecasting and Capital Solutions team is a new group in the GF&BM organization responsible for working in close partnership with Technology to service other GF&BM teams and for ensuring the execution of a cohesive strategy across the firm’s forecasting and capital tools with the goal of refining and enhancing JPMC’s capabilities.
 
The group currently has oversight of 3 key platforms:
  • F3 is an enterprise-wide forecasting and analytical platform that aims to provide a one stop shop for forecasting and analytics with robust controls and oversight by  integrating estimations in the firm with authoritative data sources and an enriched advanced analytics layer
  • Capital Desktop is a central platform for RWA actual computation including results, data collection, calculations, operational workflow, manual adjustments, reporting & analytics for RCMO, LOB Controllers, Risk, and CP&A
  • Neutron is an integrated calculation engine (i.e., aggregation, consolidation and validation calculations) and reporting system for capital stress testing
This position provides a rare opportunity for motivated candidates to learn current forecasting and capital process and methodologies across various Business Units and products across the firm. The position involves interaction with senior management in several teams across the firm including Business Units and Corporate finance functions, model development, technology & operations, regulatory capital management office and controllers organization. The ability to work efficiently and communicate effectively across these boundaries will be one of the keys to success.
 

Job Summary

The Head of Strategy will lead a small team responsible for driving the end-to-end strategy across Forecasting and Capital solutions.  More specifically, this role will be: 

  • Responsible for developing, planning, executing and evaluating the group’s vision and multi-year strategy in close partnership with the Head of Forecasting and Capital Solutions and the entire leadership team.
  • Accountable for establishing the right organizational framework and operating model to effectively execute the strategy end-to-end.
  • Develop and implement a customer centric approach to finance technology implementation
  • Partner with senior management to ensure services/products are aligned to Finance and Firmwide priorities as well as set and manage expectations, communicate strategic plan, and enable collaboration, decision making, transparency and efficiencies across the Firm.
  • Partner with the Lines of Businesses and key stakeholders including:
    • Core Services team in developing and delivering services
    • Platform team in evaluating current tools available to customers and providing requirements for developing tools that support the end-to-end business process
    • Operations team to develop, implement and maintain the appropriate operational support framework
    • Technology teams to ensure right alignment of Technology resources to deliver
    • Other subject matter experts within the Firm to establish strategic partnerships and adopt best practices
  • Establish and own framework to ensure appropriate  cross-functional dependencies, gaps and issues are appropriately identified, escalated and remediation prioritized
  • Own all relevant governance activities including governance forums, meetings, regulatory engagement and communications and materials.
  • Define, analyze and monitor success criteria, KPIs, trends and risk/opportunities for both short and long term across products and services
  • Develop consistent standards that optimize and deliver a unified customer experience ensuring proper deployment and customer satisfaction
  • Drive Firmwide awareness of Forecasting and Capital products, services and strategic vision as well as executive communications, marketing, branding and messaging
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience with a focus on automation and strategic initiatives highly preferred
  • Strong core finance technical skills and solid understanding of finance processes, infrastructure and systems
  • Strong understanding of forecast and processes, highly preferred
  • Able to work quickly and with attention to detail, juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead across LOBs/Functions and geographies; strong interpersonal skills with a focus on service
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills;
  • Able to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound judgment
  • Previous experience with building/designing cross Business Unit systems would be preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred
