As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.


We are performance technology and operate within Asset Management providing the Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) the software they need in order to calculate the performance of investment portfolios and pooled funds. We are a global team based in several locations ranging from New Jersey to Mumbai.

Performance technology is dedicated to migrating our global users from multiple existing vendor-based platforms to a single in-house solution. You will be an integral part of ensuring that our users have a seamless experience when migrating to the new system.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, implementation and testing of the SPARTA project in the EMEA region. The main aim of this project is to replace a vendor based performance system with the in-house SPARTA solution.
  • Act as a member of one of the self-organizing scrum teams within the project – Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, sizing, sprint retrospective, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve issues and changes to ensure business as usual (BAU) for the live areas of SPARTA and the legacy systems it replaces.
  • Providing level 3 support of SPARTA & legacy systems that it will be replacing. This includes being part of an out of hours on call Rota.
  • Help to migrate to a DevOps culture and a private cloud based system. We have two self-organizing teams working in an engaging and agile environment within Glasgow. 
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Experience with Object Orientated development (Java strongly preferred)
  • Experience working in an agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
  • Developed SQL queries against a relational database (Oracle preferred)
  • You’ve crafted Web based applications (Angular preferred)
  • You are experienced with Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools (Pentaho preferred)
  • You are able to use a business rules engine (Drools preferred)
  • You’ve worked with a statistical programming language (R preferred but will consider other statistical programming languages)
